Startup Consulting Day for Youth Union Members

On the afternoon of December 8, in Sam Son City, Thanh Hoa Provincial Youth Union organized a Startup Consulting Day for Youth Union members in 2024.

Speaking at the festival, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union Phung To Linh emphasized: In recent years, start-up activities in Thanh Hoa province have grown strongly in both scale and quality, gradually affirming the province's position on the national start-up map. And in that general result, the youth force is proud to have made certain contributions. Organizing the start-up consultation festival for youth union members in 2024 is a useful forum, creating an environment and motivation to promote the start-up spirit for union members and young people, providing knowledge and skills to prepare when participating in start-ups; answering questions, discovering oneself and having more aspirations and motivation for young people to embark on the start-up journey.

Overview of the festival

At the festival, the youth union members were given experiences on current solutions to support young entrepreneurs by Dr. Do Minh Thuy, Vice President of the Provincial Youth Union, Vice President of the Provincial Young Entrepreneurs Association, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vina Green Investment and Development Joint Stock Company. The youth union members also discussed and exchanged on issues related to the entrepreneurial journey such as what is an entrepreneurial journey, how to choose a form of entrepreneurial journey, how to start a successful entrepreneurial journey, etc.

Starting a business is to start your work seriously, responsibility leads to success. Before starting a business, you need to define your goals; think creatively; find capital. Since 2017, I decided to return to my hometown to start a business with the Befine medicinal plant production model. This is a model of producing products from agricultural by-products, medicinal plants and growing medicinal plants in an organic direction. Thereby, increasing income for people through purchasing agricultural by-products such as lemongrass leaves, grapefruit peels, eucalyptus branches and leaves... From there, extracting them into natural products such as lemongrass essential oil, cinnamon essential oil and other medicinal herbs.

To start my business, I borrowed more than 900 million VND from the Social Policy Bank to rent land, hire workers to build a factory, and import native medicinal plant varieties. The beginning was quite difficult, with many difficulties and failures, but with the encouragement of my relatives, I tried to overcome them.

Thanks to my efforts to overcome difficulties and my will to succeed, my direction is increasingly effective, the model is growing and generating high income. Up to now, the facility has been expanded to 4 large workshops, with a maximum capacity of 300 tons of raw materials per month and a factory specializing in essential oil production.

In my opinion, starting a business is a long journey, and begins with hardships and challenges. But if you persevere and make an effort, you will succeed.

As an international student majoring in tourism management in Singapore, after graduating I had a stable job in Saigon with a salary that many young people dream of. However, because of my determination to start a business and get rich in my homeland, after much thought and consideration, I decided to return to my hometown in 2016 and began to learn and research the market to start a business.

Realizing that Thanh Hoa has an abundant source of chili, I decided to start a business by processing chili sauce. When I started my business, I researched, studied, and studied chili sauce recipes and then made my own according to my taste. After that, I boldly borrowed capital to invest in machinery, equipment, and purchased chili from the raw material areas in the province.

Grasping the increasing trend of people consuming clean food and organic food, I decided to produce chili sauce made from natural ingredients, without preservatives or colorants. The production process is also strict, ensuring food hygiene and safety. Therefore, after being launched on the market, chili sauce has been trusted and chosen by customers. In addition, to reassure customers, I have successfully built OCOP products such as Phuc Loc Tho chili sauce and tomato sauce.

Starting a business is always a burning dream of young people. Although they choose different paths to start a business, they always have the same desire to assert themselves and contribute to society. However, how to turn the dream of starting a business into reality is a question that many young people are still struggling with. I think that before becoming a teacher, you must be a worker. Only through the process of actual work can you accumulate experience, then when establishing a business can you make the right decisions, from there, apply them in practice.

On this occasion, the Provincial Youth Union organized an exhibition to display, introduce and trade start-up products of local youth with the participation of 6 youth booths.
