Startup Festival "Tay Do Spirit"

On December 12, Can Tho City People's Committee coordinated with the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) to organize the Can Tho City Innovation and Startup Festival 2023 (Techfest Cantho 2023) with the theme "Tay Do Spirit".

Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Pham Hong Quat, Director of the Department of Market Development and Science and Technology Enterprises (Ministry of Science and Technology); Mr. Pham Van Hieu, Standing Deputy Secretary, Chairman of the People's Council of Can Tho City; Mr. Nguyen Hoc He, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City; Mr. Ngo Anh Tin, Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Can Tho City; representatives of leaders of departments, branches, sectors, and start-up enterprises from the Mekong Delta provinces.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc He, Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee, said that Can Tho is "the core urban area of ​​the Mekong Delta". Therefore, in recent years, the City Party Committee and People's Committee have paid special attention to science and technology activities, identifying this field as playing an important role in the process of building and developing the city.

"The Techfest Cantho 2023 event not only contributes to promoting socio-economic development but also connects resources to support the innovative technology ecosystem of Can Tho, the Mekong Delta region with localities across the country and internationally," Mr. He emphasized.

Techfest Cantho 2023 will display over 500 innovative technology products to introduce and connect startups; orient and encourage technology development and innovation in businesses and at institutes and schools in the Mekong Delta region.

In particular, the event also attracted more than 30 booths displaying new technology products, virtual reality technology, healthcare, transportation, education, digital technology and 3D printing on the field, green technology to protect the environment from electric motorbikes and electric cars.

Some outstanding activities at the event include: The 4th Mekong Delta Startup and Innovation Forum with the theme "University - Opening the innovation ecosystem in the Mekong Delta"; workshop on solutions to promote the value of local resources in startups; voting for typical science, technology and innovation products of Can Tho City.

The festival will also launch a network to develop startup and innovation complexes in universities and colleges in the Mekong Delta region; sign a cooperation agreement to build activities to support the startup and innovation ecosystem in Can Tho City; the final round of the Startup First 2023 competition;...

Mr. Ngo Anh Tin, Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Can Tho City, expects Techfest Cantho 2023 to connect and promote resources to develop a startup ecosystem and innovation from policies, capital, startup consultants, incubators, and other resources in the Mekong Delta region.

At the same time, promote the role of institutes, universities and leading enterprises in the startup and innovation ecosystem in the Mekong Delta region.

The program takes place from December 12 to 13 on the campus of Can Tho University.

Techfest Cantho is an annual festival held to select typical and unique products of the year. Thereby, introducing and promoting typical scientific, technological and innovative products of the city; supporting the building of foundations and developing brands of typical and unique products of the city, increasing the competitiveness of the product market.
