It is expected that the project to upgrade and renovate 3 national highways (53, 62, 91B) will complete investment procedures and start construction in early 2026.
The Ministry of Transport has just sent a document to Long An province's voters to speed up negotiations to arrange investment capital for the project to upgrade and expand National Highway 62 from the intersection with National Highway 1 to Binh Hiep border gate, Long An province.

According to the Ministry of Transport, the Road Network Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, has determined that National Highway 62 is 114km long, a grade III road, with 2-4 lanes. Of which, the section through Long An province is 76km long, and currently meets grade IV road standards.
Currently, the Ministry of Transport has prepared a pre-feasibility study report for the project to upgrade and renovate three national highways (53, 62, 91B) in the Mekong Delta, using WB loans, and has submitted the investment policy to the Prime Minister for approval.
In particular, National Highway 62 through Long An province is expected to be renovated and upgraded to meet grade III road standards.
"After the Prime Minister approves the investment policy, the Ministry will focus on implementing the next steps, striving to speed up the negotiation and signing of the loan agreement by the end of 2025, start the project in early 2026, and complete it by the end of 2027," the Ministry of Transport informed.
