Cua Hoi Bridge crosses the Lam River connecting Cua Lo town (Nghe An) and Nghi Xuan district (Ha Tinh). Cua Hoi Bridge is considered the most beautiful bridge in Nghe An because of its unique design. Not only beautiful because of its design, Cua Hoi Bridge impresses many tourists because of its extremely beautiful sunrise scene like a romantic and poetic picture.
Dawn usually breaks over the bridge from around 5am to 5:30am, creating many beautiful moments from Cua Hoi Bridge.
The sun had just risen, the dawn light and the picturesque scenery were the reward for those who rose early.
Mr. Hoang (32 years old, residing in Nghi Hai ward, Cua Lo town, Nghe An) said: “Every morning, my daughter and I often go for a walk to Cua Hoi bridge to watch the sunrise. Not only can we enjoy the beautiful scenery of our homeland, waking up early also helps my daughter and I have a good spirit to start a new day effectively.”
The water surface is like a mirror reflecting the sky at dawn. The gentle rays of dawn behind Cua Hoi Bridge make the Lam River strangely beautiful and peaceful.
The lotus bud on the concrete pillar is the architectural highlight of Cua Hoi bridge, now more sparkling in the morning sunlight.
Cua Hoi Bridge is 5.2 km long, of which the main bridge is 1.7 km long, the main bridge is 18.5 m wide, and the approach bridge is 16 m wide. Cua Hoi Bridge started construction in February 2019 and was inaugurated on March 2021 with a total investment of VND 950 billion, of which VND 450 billion is from government bonds and VND 500 billion is from local budgets (Nghe An and Ha Tinh each province has VND 250 billion).
The road section of the project is designed according to the standards of a grade 3 plain road, with a 12 m wide roadbed, 11 m wide road surface, including two motor lanes and two mixed lanes, with a design speed of 80 km/h. The concrete pillars are installed with cables leading down. The bridge has 22 pillars, 85 Super-T girders with an Extradosed span of 153 m. Cua Hoi Bridge creates conditions to promote socio-economic development, ensure regional security and defense, connect with National Highway 8B, National Highway 1 and reduce the load on National Highway 1.
