Provincial People's Committee held a press conference in the first quarter of 2025

On the afternoon of April 9, under the chairmanship of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long, the People's Committee of Nghe An province held a press conference to inform about the socio-economic situation in the first quarter and key tasks and solutions in the second quarter of 2025. Also attending were representatives of departments, branches and press agencies in the province.

In the first quarter of 2025, Nghe An achieved GRDP growth of 8%, ranking 2nd in the North Central region and 5th in the Central Coast, the highest growth rate in the past 5 years.

Agriculture, forestry and fishery were stable, industry - construction increased by 11%, services increased by 7.02%. Exports reached 840.92 million USD, up 30.7%. Tourists reached 2.22 million arrivals. Budget revenue reached 6,310 billion VND, budget expenditure was nearly 12,145 billion VND. The province attracted 10 investment projects worth 2,223 billion VND, established 573 new enterprises, up 7.5%.

Deputy Director of the Department of Finance Nguyen Hong Tuan informed about the socio-economic situation of the province in the first quarter of 2025 and some key tasks to achieve the growth target of 10.5% in 2025.

In terms of culture and society, Nghe An won 96 prizes in the National Excellent Student Competition, ranking 5th nationwide. Cultural and sports events were successful, national defense and security were stable, and the military handover ceremony achieved 100% of the target.

In the second quarter, the province will continue to implement Resolution 25 of the Government, striving to achieve the target of GRDP growth of 10.5%. The progress of investment projects, especially in the Southeast Economic Zone and industrial parks, will be accelerated. The disbursement of public investment capital and National Target Programs will be vigorously implemented. The province also focuses on improving the investment environment, administrative reform, digital transformation and ensuring social security, national defense and security.
