Sputnik news agency quoted Mr. Peskov as telling the press: "You know that any war will end in peace one way or another. But for us, achieving our goals is definitely the only alternative."
According to Kremlin officials, as soon as these goals are achieved, "the special military operation will end."
On the same day, speaking at the United Nations General Assembly, Brazilian President Lula da Silva said that his country and China had proposed a six-point plan to promote negotiations between Russia and Ukraine to end the conflict, but did not give details.
Previously, Mr. Lula da Silva also had a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin about the proposal to promote negotiations between Moscow and Kiev to end the conflict.
Also referring to the Ukraine conflict, in the opinion of Slovak President Peter Pellegrini, peace talks can only be achieved with the help of "key players" such as India, China or the United States.
Speaking to ANI news agency while attending the Future Summit of the United Nations General Assembly in New York (USA), President Pellegrini said: "There cannot be a peace summit without Russia being a party to the conflict, but I think India can play a very important role in future peace talks."
In addition, the Slovakian leader affirmed that he always supports peace talks and will do everything possible to initiate peace talks, noting that the country is very close to military conflict because it borders Ukraine.
Meanwhile, on the Indian side, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that New Delhi does not believe that the time has come for the second Ukraine "Peace Summit" to take place, because there is still a lot of work to do before that.
Last August, The Hindu reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had proposed a new “Peace Summit” on Ukraine to several countries in the Southern Hemisphere, including India.
