On the evening of June 21, a representative of the People's Committee of Cat Hai District (Hai Phong City) said that a tourist named Th. (41 years old, from Yen Bai) stayed overnight on Lan Ha Bay and unfortunately fell into the sea. His body was not found until 2 days later.
Tourist Th. is said to have shown signs of seasickness, went to the side of the ship to vomit, and unfortunately fell into the sea and died.
Previously, on June 17, Mr. Th. traveled with a group from Yen Bai province to Cat Ba island for tourism. The group of about 36 people bought tickets and boarded the Calypso cruise ship number HP - 5689 to visit Lan Ha Bay at 1:00 p.m. on June 17.
By the evening of June 17, the ship anchored in Tra Bau area (Viet Hai commune, Cat Hai district, Hai Phong city) for everyone to stay overnight on board.
At about 9:15 p.m. the same day, Mr. Th. showed signs of nausea like someone with seasickness. He then opened the door of his room and went to the side of the ship to vomit, leading to him falling into the sea.

Discovering the incident, some people on the ship jumped down to save them, but because it was dark, the search and rescue effort was unsuccessful.
Two days later, the body of male tourist Th. was found in Lan Ha Bay.
After the autopsy, determining that the victim died from drowning, the Cat Hai District Police Department handed over Th.'s body to his family to take home for funeral arrangements.
