In 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Law plans to have 3 admission methods. Notably, a new method of the school is to consider admission based on the results of the university entrance assessment exam (V-SAT exam).
Candidates taking the university entrance exam
Today (December 27), Ho Chi Minh City University of Law announced information on expected university enrollment in 2025. According to Master Le Van Hien, Deputy Head of the School's Training Department, in 2025, the university plans to enroll 4,000 students, using 3 enrollment methods. Of which, methods 1 and 2 enroll 45% of the enrollment target and method 3 enrolls 55% of the enrollment target.
Method 1 is direct admission, direct admission and priority admission according to the University Admission Regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
Method 2 is admission based on the school's admission plan, including 4 subjects.
Subject 1 : Candidates studying at international high schools, meeting all the following conditions: Graduated from high school; Have an international language certificate IELTS with a score of 6.5 or higher (issued by the British Council (BC) or International Development Program (IDP); Received a high school diploma from a foreign educational institution (this diploma must be recognized as equivalent to the training level according to the high school education program in Vietnam according to regulations).
Subject 2 : Have an international language certificate or the results of the US SAT exam, meeting the following conditions: Graduated from high school; candidates have an international language certificate (English/ or French/ or Japanese); have the results of the SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test).
In particular, the specific foreign language certificate conditions are as follows: IELTS score of 5.5 or higher (issued by the British Council (BC) or International Development Program (IDP)) or TOEFL iBT score of 65 or higher (issued by Educational Testing Service (ETS)); For French (only for law majors), have a DELF certificate with a level B1 or higher or a TCF certificate with a score of 300 or higher/skill or higher (these 2 types of certificates must be issued by the International Pedagogical Research Center); For Japanese (only for law majors), have a JLPT certificate with a level N3 or higher (issued by the Japan Foundation, in the Japanese proficiency test); For candidates using the results of the US SAT exam, score 1,150 or higher/1,600 points.
In addition, candidates in group 3 must have an average score of 6 semesters of high school for 3 subjects in the group of subjects for admission from 22.5 or higher (this average score is rounded to 1 decimal place).
Subject 3 : Candidates are students studying at schools listed in the "List of high schools with priority for admission in 2024 of Ho Chi Minh City National University", meeting the following conditions: Graduated from high school; Must have studied for 3 years at one of the schools listed above; Have good academic results in each year of grade 10, grade 11 and grade 12; Have an average score of 6 high school semesters of 3 subjects in the group of subjects for admission from 24.5 or higher (this average score is rounded to 1 decimal place).
Subject 4 : Admission based on the results of the university entrance exam (V-SAT exam).
Method 3 is to consider admission based on the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam according to the general plan of the Ministry of Education and Training.
In 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Law plans to open 3 new undergraduate training majors including: international business, finance and banking, and international law.
