Binh Thuan Mui Ne National Tourist Area will include the current core area and open up to neighboring areas, with a total area of ​​14,760 hectares.

On December 8, the People's Council of Binh Thuan province approved the master plan for the construction of Mui Ne National Tourist Area until 2040, with a vision to 2050.

Mui Ne is a famous destination known to domestic and foreign tourists since the total solar eclipse on October 24, 1995. It has long been located within the scope of three wards: Phu Hai, Ham Tien and Mui Ne.

With the new planning, Mui Ne expands to the north and west, including: 6,625 hectares of Phan Thiet city (Mui Ne, Ham Tien, Phu Hai wards and Thien Nghiep commune); 7,165 hectares of Bac Binh district (Hoa Thang and Hong Phong communes) and 970 hectares of Tuy Phong district (Phan Ri Cua town).

This national tourist area will form three sub-areas: Phu Hai – Ham Tien coastal tourism urban area; Mui Ne – Nam Hong Phong coastal tourism urban area; Hoa Thang urban center area. This place will develop various types of marine tourism, entertainment, sports, resorts and health care, ecological agriculture, culture and community, and commerce.

To create momentum, Binh Thuan will prioritize infrastructure investment, upgrading roads connecting localities with the coastal road Mui Ne - Phan Ri such as: DT 711, DT 715, DT 716, road to Phan Thiet airport, Phan Thanh - Hoa Thang road, Hong Thai - Hong Thang...

In addition, the province will invest in a marina in Tuy Phong, three marinas in Bac Binh, four marinas in Phan Thiet, along with a dike system to prevent waves and erosion to reduce the impact of climate change, and protect and embellish beaches in tourist areas.

It is forecasted that Mui Ne National Tourist Area will welcome 14 million visitors by 2030 (including 2.5 million international visitors); 25 million visitors by 2040 (6 million international visitors); and 35 million visitors by 2050 (11 million international visitors).

After approval, Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee will complete and standardize the project documents and send them to the Ministry of Construction for appraisal and submission to the Prime Minister for approval.
