On September 25, Ms. LTS (37 years old, residing in Minh Tien, Minh Thuan commune, Minh Thuong district, Kien Giang) said that she reported to Vinh Hoa commune police, Minh Thuong district that her son, NHT, a 9th grade student at Vinh Hoa 2 Secondary School, was stopped by someone outside the school gate and beaten, causing injuries.
T. was beaten and injured and is being treated at Kien Giang General Hospital.
Ms. S. said that before that, T. had a misunderstanding with D., an 8th grade student at the same school. In the early afternoon of September 22, when T. was going to school, D. called him to the school gate to talk. In front of the school gate, a group of 8 people stopped T. and one of them seriously injured him. The incident was discovered by a teacher at the school, who called T.'s parents to take him to the emergency room.
According to medical records at Kien Giang General Hospital, T. suffered soft tissue injuries to the head, face, and neck; soft tissue edema in the left forehead; internal bleeding and grade 2 spleen rupture.
Speaking to reporters, Mr. Pham Van Luu, Principal of Vinh Hoa 2 Secondary School, confirmed that a group of people from outside beat student T.
Meanwhile, Mr. Le Van Nam, Head of the Department of Education and Training of Minh Thuong District, said he had just returned from a training course in Ho Chi Minh City and had not heard the school leaders report on the incident.
According to the reporter's source, Vinh Hoa Commune Police are handling and verifying the case of a student being beaten and injured.
