Each Long Chau pharmacy earns nearly 1.2 billion VND per month.

In the first quarter of 2024, Long Chau pharmacy chain's revenue increased sharply, to more than 5,530 billion VND - equivalent to an average of nearly 1.2 billion VND per facility per month.

According to the recently released financial report, FPT Retail (FRT) - owner of FPT Shop chain and Long Chau pharmacy achieved consolidated revenue of VND 9,042 billion in the first three months of the year, an increase of 17% over the same period in 2023.

In particular, the Long Chau pharmacy chain continues to be the mainstay and driving force for this company as revenue increased by 68%, to more than VND5,530 billion. By the end of the first quarter, FRT had 1,587 Long Chau pharmacies nationwide. Thus, each of these pharmacies earned an average of nearly VND1.2 billion per month in the first quarter of the year.

The business situation of the FPT Shop chain has gradually improved but is still difficult. FRT said that the revenue of this ICT equipment retail chain decreased by 21% to VND3,583 billion. However, this chain has reduced its loss to the lowest in the last 5 quarters because the change in product structure helped increase gross profit by 3%, as well as access to low-interest loans, helping to reduce financial costs by 50% compared to the same period.

Thanks to that, FRT has returned to consolidated profit when recording pre-tax profit of about 89 billion VND. In the last quarter of last year, the company lost more than 97 billion VND.

This year, FPT Retail targets revenue of VND37,300 billion, up 17% year-on-year, and pre-tax profit of VND125 billion. FRT's board of directors is confident of achieving the set plan if the market does not experience too many fluctuations.

At the recent annual meeting, the company also announced plans to sell up to 10% of Long Chau's drug chain privately. This is to raise capital to turn Long Chau into an ecosystem (Healthcare Platform) following the health life cycle of a person - from disease prevention to health care and treatment.

This year, FRT plans to open 400 more facilities to bring the total number of Long Chau pharmacies to 1,900 by the end of the year. After the recent trial period, the company also has the ambition to have up to 100 vaccine injection centers.

With the FPT Shop chain, the company closed 30 stores last year. This year, FRT will continue to review and close more stores to improve the business efficiency of existing facilities.
