Expanding opportunities for vocational training abroad.

Báo Thanh niênBáo Thanh niên03/12/2024

In response to the growing trend of international cooperation, vocational education institutions are stepping up training programs with foreign organizations, businesses, and entities.

The 10-year socio-economic development strategy (2021-2030) in the documents of the 13th National Congress of the Party clearly states: "Develop vocational education in an open and flexible direction…; pay attention to investment and promote international cooperation to develop a number of vocational education institutions and training fields to reach a level equivalent to that of the region and the world ."

According to Master Nguyen Khanh Cuong, Principal of Lilama 2 International College of Technology, to meet the requirements of businesses as they increasingly promote production according to international standards, a highly skilled workforce is needed. Therefore, the institution has strengthened its links and cooperation, joining prestigious professional associations worldwide such as: the UK Council for Vocational Training, the American Welding Society, the European Association for Vocational Training, etc.

"The school's goal in joining international associations and opening international training programs is to meet the requirements of businesses, improve the quality of training, and increasingly approach international standards so that students can participate in the domestic labor market and open up opportunities to work abroad," emphasized Master Cuong.

Over the past period, Ho Chi Minh City College of Economics has been actively promoting international cooperation in teaching and research. Mr. Tran Van Tu, Principal of Ho Chi Minh City College of Economics, stated: "To date, the college has collaborated with 20 universities, colleges, and research institutes in the region on student and faculty exchanges in training and research cooperation."

Meanwhile, since 2019, Viễn Đông College has been collaborating with Knappschaft Group (Germany) on a 2+2 training program in nursing. According to Ms. Phan Thị Lệ Thu, Vice Principal of Viễn Đông College, this program attracts many students each year, with over 500 students from the college having studied and worked in Germany. "The college is expanding into other fields such as technology, engineering, hospitality, beauty care, sales, etc., with many other partners," Ms. Thu added.

Regarding job opportunities for students studying international joint programs, Master Khánh Cường informed that students can not only participate in the domestic labor market but also work abroad, especially in programs in Germany. After training, students can apply for jobs on their own or German companies can directly interview them, assess their skills, and select candidates.

Meanwhile, thanks to the collaboration between Viễn Đông College and the German Knappschaft Group, students have job opportunities in Europe. The Vice Principal of Viễn Đông College shared that students receive free education in Germany and work for a salary. Each month, businesses provide support ranging from 1,000 to 1,500 euros. After graduation, salaries range from 2,500 to 3,500 euros.
