The Government gives its opinion on the nearly 15,000 billion VND expressway section Tan Quang - Thanh Thuy International Border Gate

BHG - The Government Office has just issued Official Dispatch No. 2404/VPCP-CN, dated March 22, 2025, to the Minister of Construction, the Minister of Finance and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Giang province, conveying the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha on the investment plan for the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang expressway project (phase 2) from Tan Quang to Thanh Thuy International Border Gate, Vi Xuyen district.

The Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang Expressway Project (Phase 1) through Ha Giang province is being urgently deployed and completed.

The Deputy Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Construction to preside over, coordinate with the Ministry of Finance and relevant agencies, synthesize and study the proposal of the People's Committee of Ha Giang province, report and propose to the Prime Minister for consideration and decision before March 31, 2025.

Previously, on March 5, 2025, the People's Committee of Ha Giang province issued Document 52/BC-UBND requesting the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Construction, and the Ministry of Finance to consider the investment policy for the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang Expressway Project (phase 2), the Tan Quang section to Thanh Thuy international border gate, and include the project in the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2026-2030.

According to the proposed investment plan, the route is more than 58km long, starting at Km27+480 adjacent to the end point of the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang expressway project (phase 1) in Tan Quang commune, Bac Quang district, and ending at Thanh Thuy international border gate.

The expressway is designed with class 100 expressway standards, design speed 100km/h, sections passing through difficult terrain are designed with class 80, design speed 80km/h.

The total investment for Tuyen Quang-Ha Giang Expressway (phase 2) is expected to be 14,852 billion VND, using public investment capital. Implementation schedule is from 2025 - 2028.
