At the meeting, the People's Council of Bac Giang province passed a resolution to dismiss the Chairwoman of the People's Council of the province and to remove Ms. Le Thi Thu Hong, former Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, from her duties as a delegate to the 19th term of the Provincial People's Council. The People's Council also dismissed Mr. Le Anh Duong from his position as Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Giang province and removed him from his duties as a delegate to the 19th term of the Provincial People's Council. Mr. Le Anh Duong retired early from October 1. In addition, the People's Council of the province dismissed Mr. Le O Pich from his position as Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of the province.

Previously, at the 46th session, the Central Inspection Commission (CCI) reviewed the results of the inspection when there were signs of violations and the results of the review, and proposed disciplinary action against the Standing Committee of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee. According to the CCI, the Standing Committee of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee violated the principle of democratic centralism and working regulations; lacked responsibility, slackened leadership, direction, and lacked inspection and supervision, allowing the Provincial People's Council Party Delegation, the Provincial People's Committee Party Executive Committee, and many organizations and individuals to violate Party regulations and State laws in a number of investment projects implemented by Thuan An Group Joint Stock Company in the province. These violations have caused serious consequences, risking great losses of State money and assets, causing bad public opinion, reducing the prestige of the Party organization and local government, to the point of requiring disciplinary action. The Central Inspection Commission determined that Mr. Le Anh Duong, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, was also responsible for the above violations, so it issued a disciplinary warning to Mr. Le Anh Duong. On October 7, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also signed a decision to discipline Mr. Le Anh Duong.
