According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from the night of March 18-19, a cold air mass may flow into our country, causing temperatures to drop sharply and the North to turn cold.

Due to the influence of cold air, the North will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, while the mountainous areas in the North will have moderate to heavy rain. From March 19-20, the weather will turn cold; at the same time, the damp weather will end.

In the North and Central Central regions, from March 19-21, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms. Thunderstorms may include tornadoes, hail and strong gusts of wind. The provinces from Thanh Hoa to Ha Tinh may turn cold from March 19.

However, before the cold air arrives, the Northeast region from now until March 17 will continue to have light rain, drizzle and fog. The Northwest and the area from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien Hue will have rain in some places, early morning there will be scattered fog and light fog, sunny in the afternoon; in the Northwest region, there will be rain in some places at night, sunny during the day, hot in some places.

From the night of March 17-18, the entire North and Thanh Hoa will have light rain, drizzle and scattered fog in the morning, and sunny weather in the afternoon. In the Northwest, on March 18, there will be hot weather in some places.

Regarding the drizzle and humidity that is happening in the North and many places in the North Central region, meteorological experts say that the humidity is likely to end when the Northeast monsoon arrives on March 19. However, the cold air mass is only weak, causing light rain and drizzle, so it is forecasted that in the last week of March, the humidity will return and last until the end of April with about 4-5 different periods; some periods last for several days, even a whole week.

According to Nguyen Van Huong, Head of the Weather Forecast Department, National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, according to the climate law, from now until April, dry air will be replaced by humid air masses. During this period, the Northern region will experience light rain, drizzle, fog, and cold weather at night and in the morning.

According to Mr. Huong, the phenomenon of humid weather occurs commonly in the Northern region, especially in the capital Hanoi from February to April every year. At this time, the air humidity increases above 85% along with drizzle and fog causing dampness in houses, civil works, etc., making daily life and people's health face many difficulties.

Meteorological experts recommend that in this weather, people should limit opening windows and doors to avoid more moisture entering the house. Instead of turning on the fan to dry the floor, people should use specialized dehumidifiers to avoid slipping, and clean the floor with a dry cloth...

Meanwhile, in the Southeast region, the prolonged heat wave has not shown any signs of abating. It is forecasted that in the coming days, this region will continue to have heat waves of 35-37 degrees Celsius, some places may experience severe heat waves above 37 degrees Celsius (from March 21, the heat wave may gradually decrease); in the Southwest region, it will be around 32-35 degrees Celsius, dry weather, little rain.
