When will the cold rain in the North last?

Báo Dân tríBáo Dân trí13/01/2024

On January 13, the North entered the fourth day of a prolonged cold spell due to the influence of cold air. The weather continued to be drizzly and showery, with high humidity above 80%. The lowest temperature remained at 16-18 degrees Celsius, with some mountainous areas below 14 degrees Celsius.

According to the chart of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, in the coming days, the temperature in the North will increase slightly, the weather will tend to be warmer during the day. However, showers and drizzle will continue, possibly lasting until around January 17.

Long-term wet weather can cause inconvenience to people when participating in traffic, as well as affect health.

In the weather forecast from now until February 10, the meteorological agency said the average temperature nationwide will be 1-2 degrees Celsius higher than the average of many years.

In the coming month, cold air tends to be weaker than the same period last year, so the North and North Central regions will have fewer days of severe cold. On the contrary, total rainfall in these two regions is generally 10-20mm higher than average, with the Northwest region being 20-30mm higher.

In the Central region, total rainfall is 10-20mm lower, especially from Quang Nam to Khanh Hoa, it is 20-40mm lower than the same period. The Central Highlands and the South also generally have little rain.

Today (January 13), the water level in the Southeast coastal region tends to increase with the highest height at Vung Tau station possibly reaching 4.15-4.2m.

Due to the influence of high tides, low-lying areas, riverside areas, and areas outside the dike system in the coastal area of the Southeast region are likely to be flooded in the early morning and afternoon. This phenomenon also increases the risk of saltwater intrusion in the rivers in the area.

Weather forecast for January 13 in regions across the country:
