There are still 2 weeks left until the September 2nd holiday, but the number of flight and train bookings has only reached 30-40%, and ticket prices have not increased compared to the peak summer season.
During the National Day holiday on September 2 this year, civil servants will have 4 days off from September 1 to September 4. Travel demand is expected to increase, but on the ticket sales websites of airlines, there are still many seats available for flights to tourist destinations such as Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, Da Nang, Quy Nhon..., ticket prices have not increased compared to the summer, and there are even many promotional tickets.
Vietnam Airlines tickets for the Hanoi - Phu Quoc route departing on August 31 and returning on September 4 cost 4-4.5 million VND round trip; the price for the departure on May 1 increases by about 1 million VND. Vietjet Air tickets for the Hanoi - Phu Quoc route on the same day cost about 3 million VND round trip, not including checked baggage. The days after the holiday, ticket prices drop sharply, only about 2.3 million VND round trip.
Vietnam Airlines' flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang departs on August 31 and returns on September 4, with a round-trip price of VND2.8 - 3 million depending on the flight time. Meanwhile, Vietjet Air's ticket price is around VND2.5 million, excluding checked baggage. From Nha Trang to Ho Chi Minh City on September 2, Vietjet has many promotional tickets priced at VND9,000, excluding taxes and fees.
According to a representative of Vietnam Airlines, the airline has increased many flights during the holiday, so there are plenty of seats and reasonable prices. This is an opportunity for people to own a holiday trip at a normal price. The airline will monitor the number of bookings close to the holiday to continue increasing flights to meet the travel needs of passengers.

Vietnam Airlines Group plans to offer nearly 400,000 seats on domestic routes during the peak period of August 31 to September 5, up 15% year-on-year and 15% year-on-year. For international routes, the airline will offer more than 155,000 seats on routes, more than double the number in 2022.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam said that most flights to domestic tourist destinations on September 2 were only 30-40% full, while some flights at prime times were 50-60% full, similar to summer, with no spikes like previous years. Airlines still have extra flights in reserve if passengers book late.
The reason is believed to be due to the long April 30 holiday and the fact that visitors have already traveled during the summer; the holiday is close to the start of the new school year. This year's peak summer schedule is determined to end on August 15, but since the beginning of August, the number of visitors has returned to normal levels. However, Noi Bai airport still has a plan to organize traffic flow, prepare staff on duty to ensure service provision, and clear passengers if there is a sudden increase on September 2.
Hanoi Railway Transport Joint Stock Company has sold more than 14,000 tickets, about 30% of the total number of tickets for National Day. According to the company representative, the slow ticket sales rate is partly due to customers often buying tickets close to the departure date. During the peak season, the company plans to run 25 more trains on the routes from Hanoi to Thanh Hoa, Vinh, Dong Hoi, Hai Phong, Lao Cai and vice versa, with a total of more than 50,000 tickets.
Hanoi - Dong Hoi route will have additional trains QB1/QB2; Hanoi - Vinh will have additional trains SE35/SE36, NA3; Hanoi - Lao Cai will have additional trains SP1/SP2; Hanoi - Hai Phong will have additional trains LP9/LP10, HP3/HP4. This year's Thong Nhat train ticket prices are the same as last year, with local trains increasing slightly by 4-7%. Social policy beneficiaries will receive a discount on ticket prices; customers buying round-trip tickets will also receive a discount of 5%.

In addition to the daily trains such as SE1/2, SE3/4, SE5/6, SE7/8 (Saigon - Hanoi), SE21/22 (Saigon - Da Nang), SNT1/2 (Saigon - Nha Trang), SPT1/2 (Saigon - Phan Thiet), Saigon Railway Transport Joint Stock Company will run nearly 20 more trains from Saigon station to Phan Thiet, Nha Trang, Quy Nhon, Hanoi and vice versa. In addition, if the number of passengers increases, the company will run more trains to serve the needs of customers.
Bus stations in Hanoi also added 640 trips during the National Day holiday. Of which, Giap Bat bus station added 252 trips, Gia Lam bus station added 88 trips, and My Dinh bus station added 298 trips.
According to the leader of Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company, this long holiday season means that the demand for road travel is expected to increase sharply, focusing on some localities with tourist attractions, such as Phu Tho, Quang Ninh, Nam Dinh, Thanh Hoa, Thai Binh, Lao Cai, Son La. Passengers will start to increase from the evening of August 31 to the end of September 5. Passengers often buy tickets on the day of departure, so the bus station will be on duty and increase vehicles if passenger demand increases suddenly.
Giap Bat bus station is expected to receive about 12,000 passengers per day, twice as much as usual. Passengers are concentrated on routes to Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh, and Thanh Hoa. Gia Lam bus station is expected to receive about 4,000 passengers per day, twice as much as usual, with 400 trips per day. My Dinh bus station is expected to receive about 15,000 passengers per day, a 2.5% increase compared to usual, with an expected number of more than 900 trips per day.
