Fraudsters use images and information similar to official sites to call on benefactors to donate and transfer money to personal accounts for appropriation.

The Department of Information and Communications of Quang Ninh province recommends that people should be vigilant and not send donations or support for victims to accounts of unknown origin.

At the same time, promote the sharing of warning information widely so that people can raise their vigilance. Detecting and reporting fake and fraudulent pages is also a way to contribute to protecting the community.

The Department of Information and Communications of Quang Ninh province also recommends that social networking sites do not provide false information about the local storm and flood situation. Such acts will be strictly handled according to current legal regulations.

Taking advantage of natural disasters and floods to commit fraud not only causes economic damage to people but also reduces public trust in legitimate charitable activities.

Quang Ninh Department of Information and Communications recommends that people protect themselves from fraud by:

Carefully check information on donation accounts, giving priority to official sources.

Share warning information with relatives and friends to raise awareness.

Report to authorities when discovering Fanpages or personal accounts showing signs of fraud.
