Musician Duy Thai - famous for many songs that have stood the test of time such as Loi cua gio, Pho vong, Anh trang was originally a drama actor, graduated from the theater school and worked for many years at the drama troupe in Hai Phong. Behind the scenes of composing 'Words of the Wind' 38 years ago
Words of the Wind was born in 1985 under special circumstances. The composition process took place quickly, with the beginning and end being completed first, followed by the middle. Due to limitations in musical theory, the song was written with a fairly wide vocal range, which inadvertently created an important feature of the song later on. During a performance by the Central Song and Dance Troupe in Hai Phong, Duy Thai introduced the song to singer Thai Bao, who then sent it to musician Quang Vinh to review.
"I left the song for quite a while. One day while sitting at my desk, I had time to look at it and saw that the lyrics were so good, the music was quite funny, very simple but the feeling was pure," musician Quang Vinh added.
Quang Vinh said that the first time he sang "Loi cua gio" with singer Ai Van in a professional performance. However, it was not until the artist sang a duet with Hong Nhung in a TV show that the song became a "fever" and was warmly received by the public.

The sincerity and purity in the way of expressing feelings made Words of the Wind one of the most popular love songs at that time, especially used by young people to confess their love. The song not only expresses love but also reflects the fears and insecurities of a young man in love, making it easy for listeners to sympathize and be close.
Looking back at the time of composing the song in 1985, musician Duy Thai shared: "When I was young and energetic, I was fascinated and liked everything I saw. At that time, people saw everything as fresh and beautiful. But when they reach a certain age, everything overlaps, and their desires are no longer the same as before."

Thoughts on the profession
Recalling his composing period in the 1980s, musician Duy Thai has special memories. That was the time when the country had just gone through war, life was "hard when it came to money" but it was in the difficulties that precious spiritual values arose.
"That time was very difficult, but everyone was like that, so my little difficulties became normal and sometimes I was carefree. In that context, the feelings between people were more genuine," he recalled.
For Duy Thai, inspiration for writing can come from simple moments in life. The song Pho Vang was born on a rainy afternoon, when he was walking home alone from a pho restaurant. Anh Nguyet was written after witnessing a special moonlit night by the lake. Each song carries within it a story, a genuine emotion from the author's own experience.
To date, Duy Thai has composed about 300 songs, ranging from love songs to folk music. He does not want to be confined to one genre: "As a creator, a writer, one must try to write in many genres to create many colors.
Currently, musician Duy Thai continues to compose and carry out new music projects. On YouTube, he has 6 albums and is about to release his 7th album. In addition, he also has 3 albums with different singers, each album has an average of more than 10 songs, some albums have up to 25 songs.
To young people with a passion for music, musician Duy Thai advises: "Just be honest and follow your own path. It will give rise to its own colors, ego, and nuances. I think that will lead to success."
