This information was confirmed by a representative of Tuan Chau Group, related to the controversy on Facebook about a group of tourists vacationing in Tuan Chau, Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Province, accusing them of being charged a beach fee of 30,000 VND/person.
Accordingly, information on social networks said that a group of tourists rented 50 hotel rooms in Tuan Chau but were charged a fee to go to the beach. When the group did not agree, security forces came to enforce the decision.
Speaking with Tuoi Tre Online on May 25, a representative of Tuan Chau Group confirmed that the information shared on social networks was incomplete, causing people to misunderstand.
Accordingly, the incident occurred on the evening of May 24, a group of more than 50 guests did not stay at the hotel belonging to Tuan Chau Group but brought many belongings, speakers, etc. to Tuan Chau beach (an artificial beach invested by this group) to organize a team building.
"According to the group's regulations, small activities or normal swimming are completely free, but organizing team building activities requires a fee, the regulated price is 30,000 VND/person for groups of guests not staying at the group's hotel facilities" - the representative of Tuan Chau Group informed.
The reason for the fee is because team building activities often generate waste on the beach area, so after each activity, the unit will have to organize people to clean up and sift sand to keep the beach clean.
According to the group representative, after the group's feedback on social media, the company asked the relevant staff to make a report to report the incident. Initial results showed that the group's security staff always maintained a standard and polite attitude when informing the group of guests about the above fee collection regulations.
"Our staff informed that if the group did not pay the fee, they would have to clean up the waste, then they would clean up and leave," said a representative of Tuan Chau Group.
