Localities in Bien Hoa (Dong Nai) are making a list of cases eligible for fare reduction when passing through Dong Khoi toll station.

On February 20, the People's Committees of Tan Phong Ward and Trang Dai Ward (Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai) are reviewing the list of vehicles eligible for reduced fares when passing through Dong Khoi toll station. These are two localities located on Dong Khoi Street (belonging to the BOT project of Provincial Road 768).

Previously, Dong Nai provincial authorities approved a policy of reducing tolls for households directly affected when passing through the toll station on Dong Khoi Street. These are households living in Trang Dai and Tan Phong wards (Bien Hoa city).

The conditions for the discount are that households have permanent residence registration, the discounted vehicle must be owned by the owner, and the buses must pass through the toll station on Dong Khoi Street.

Tan Phong Ward People's Committee and Trang Dai Ward People's Committee have notified the Neighborhood Management Board to inform households so that people can register early to receive a discount on tickets when traveling through the station.

Road 768 is the connecting route between Dong Nai and Binh Duong via Thu Bien Bridge, while Dong Khoi Road connects from Bien Hoa city to Provincial Road 768. Previously, Road 768 had a BOT project to collect tolls on the section of Provincial Road 768 from Gac Nai intersection (Buu Long, Bien Hoa) to Thu Bien Bridge (Vinh Cuu district); Dong Khoi Road from Tan Phong intersection to Provincial Road 768; Thien Tan Water Plant Road and Provincial Road 768B.

This project started collecting tolls in November 2010 with two stations located on Thien Tan Water Plant Road, Dong Khoi (Bien Hoa) and two stations located in Vinh Cuu District. From the beginning of 2021, the investor requested to temporarily stop collecting tolls to invest in the ETC non-stop toll collection system as requested by the Government. By March 2023, the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee agreed to allow toll collection to resume from May 1, 2023. However, due to some problems, the resumption of toll collection has not been implemented yet.

Dong Nai province planned to resume toll collection on BOT 768 from December 1, 2024, but has not yet resumed toll collection. During this time, the locality has made some adjustments related to toll collection sections. Dong Nai province authorities are coordinating with the project investor, Sonadezi Chau Duc Joint Stock Company, to carry out procedures to adjust this BOT project.

This includes adjusting to remove the Thien Tan water plant road and the parallel road of this route from the BOT 768 project. Thus, when BOT 768 road resumes toll collection, there will only be provincial road 768 from Gac Nai intersection (Buu Long, Bien Hoa) to Thu Bien bridge (Vinh Cuu district); Dong Khoi road from Tan Phong intersection to provincial road 768.

The toll fee for the BOT toll station on Dong Khoi Street (Bien Hoa City) is as follows: Cars under 12 seats, trucks under 2 tons and public buses are 20,000 VND/trip, 600,000 VND/month. Cars with 12-30 seats, trucks with a load capacity from 2 tons to under 4 tons are 30,000 VND/trip, 900,000 VND/month.

For vehicles with 31 seats or more, trucks from 4 tons to under 10 tons are 44,000 VND/trip, 1.32 million VND/month. Trucks from 10 tons to under 18 tons and trucks carrying goods in 20-foot containers are 80,000 VND/trip, 2.4 million VND/month.

It is known that the BOT (build - operate - transfer) project of provincial road 768 includes a complex of six routes with a total length of more than 48km. The project is invested by Sonadezi Chau Duc Joint Stock Company with a total investment of more than 534 billion VND (excluding site clearance and relocation of technical infrastructure systems). After adjusting the investment policy, the capital needed to collect fees to recover the remaining capital is about 425 billion VND, and it is expected that the fee collection will last until 2033.

According to the reporter of Giao thong Newspaper, at present, basically the entire DT768 route and Dong Khoi street, people's traffic is going smoothly. Some sections of the route that have been degraded and damaged have been maintained and repaired. Particularly, Dong Khoi street, right at the toll station through Tan Phong and Trang Dai wards, has many large potholes, road subsidence and severe flooding every time it rains heavily. Therefore, people hope that the investor will soon repair the damaged areas to ensure traffic safety.
