Vietnam - Japan Festival: Promoting Ishikawa province's specialties to stimulate tourism

According to Mr. Kitagawa Hironobu, at this festival, the Japanese Food Products Promotion Center Overseas will set up a booth dedicated to Ishikawa province to display local specialties.

Mr. Kitagawa Hironobu said that on January 1, 2024, right on New Year's Day, Ishikawa province was severely affected by the earthquake, killing many people and many fishing and aquaculture businesses suffered great damage and encountered many difficulties.

On the occasion of the 9th Vietnam - Japan Festival, the Center would like to introduce the specialties of this province with the hope that Vietnamese people will know that they are trying to overcome the consequences and promote the delicious dishes of the province.

"I hope this is an opportunity for Vietnamese people to know about this province and then travel here," said Mr. Kitagawa Hironobu.

Explaining more clearly about reserving a booth for Ishikawa province at the festival, Mr. Kitagawa Hironobu said that when Vietnamese people are interested in and learn more about this province, Japan will promote and build tours and tourist destinations to this province.

“When traveling here, enjoying delicious food and beautiful scenery will stimulate demand and help the locality develop better,” said Mr. Kitagawa Hironobu, hoping that the Vietnamese pioneers will create a wave of Vietnamese people coming to Ishikawa province.

At the 9th Vietnam - Japan Festival, the Japanese Food Products Promotion Center Overseas brings 15 culinary experience booths and 8 product display booths.

He said that the biggest goal is to introduce Japanese cuisine to Vietnam. In addition, introduce fresh seafood to Vietnamese consumers, including fresh scallops.

Initially, we will promote and advertise to create awareness among Vietnamese consumers about fresh scallops. Then, through some Japanese retailers, we will bring scallops to the Vietnamese market ,” said Mr. Kitagawa Hironobu, hoping that Vietnamese restaurants will also contribute to promoting this Japanese product.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nam (living in District 3, Ho Chi Minh City) said that he often goes on business trips to Japan and never misses the opportunity to enjoy the cuisine in this country.

After enjoying Sushi and Sashimi at the booths of the Japan Food Products Promotion Center overseas, he found the taste to be exactly the same as what he had eaten in Japan.

Cuisine is something that easily leaves a deep impression on people. Therefore, I think this is one of the important ways to promote deeper and deeper exchanges between Vietnamese and Japanese people, ” said Mr. Nam.

The Japan Food Products Overseas Promotion Center (JFOODO) was established as part of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) on April 1, 2017 with the aim of promoting Japanese agricultural, forestry and fishery products to consumers throughout Japan through branding.

The 9th Vietnam - Japan Festival in Ho Chi Minh City will take place from March 9 - 10, including many trade, culinary and tourism exchange activities; promotion of Vietnamese - Japanese products and diverse Vietnamese - Japanese cultural and artistic exchange programs.
