(PLVN) - About 100 types of kites from 12 countries and territories such as China, India, Korea... will bring special competitions to the Quang Nam International Kite Festival 2024.
On July 27, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam province coordinated with partners to open the Quang Nam International Kite Festival 2024. The event is part of a series of tourism stimulus activities 2024 "Quang Nam - Green Heritage", at the same time aiming to promote and preserve the art of making and flying kites.
The first Quang Nam International Kite Festival in 2024 has the participation of 13 kite teams from 12 countries and territories including India, Thailand, China, Hong Kong (China), Taiwan (China), Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Australia and Vietnamese kite teams..., with about 100 different types of kites.

The festival takes place from July 27-29 at the beach near Duy Hai commune (Duy Xuyen district, Quang Nam).
The highlight of the International Kite Festival - Quang Nam 2024 is the LED kite flying program under the starry night on the evening of July 27 and 28. Especially, the grand music night welcomes the appearance of famous young singers in the country.
In addition to the artistic kite performances, the festival also offers many other exciting activities. Visitors will have the opportunity to participate in kite making classes under the enthusiastic guidance of artisans; explore diverse and rich cuisine, enjoy magic shows, unique fire dance performances... and a series of other impressive fun and entertainment activities.

The ideal location for domestic and international kite events and to become a part of the International Kite Festival - Quang Nam 2024. This is a great opportunity for kite masters from the North to the South of Vietnam to meet and exchange in an international event on kite art taking place on the beach of Hoiana.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Le Van Dung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province, said that the Quang Nam International Kite Festival 2024 is expected by Quang Nam province to be developed into an international cultural - artistic - tourism event and will be held annually in Quang Nam, entertaining tourists from all over the world like the Hue Festival and the Da Nang Fireworks Festival.

At the same time, the festival becomes a highlight for Quang Nam to introduce to domestic and international friends its unique summer tourism products associated with interesting experiences at famous destinations such as the world cultural heritages of Hoi An, My Son, the world biosphere reserve of Cu Lao Cham, the Monument of Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, etc. Along with that are eco-tourism and cultural destinations; traditional folk art forms such as Bai Choi singing, exploring the "treasure" of tourism and typical cuisine of Quang Nam.
