Summer is bright
As part of the 2024 tourism stimulus activities “Quang Nam – Green Heritage Land”, the 2024 Quang Nam International Kite Festival will take place from July 27 to 29, 2024 at the beach near Hoiana resort (Tay Son Tay village, Duy Hai commune, Duy Xuyen district).
The festival has the participation of kite teams from 13 countries and territories: India, Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, China, Australia, Vietnam, Taiwan (China) and Hong Kong (China).
The teams brought together eye-catching artistic kite flying performances with about 100 different types of kites, along with a colorful kite display space.
Mr. Steven Wolstenholme - Chairman and General Director of Hoiana said that with careful investment, Hoiana promises to bring visitors a festival space that perfectly combines kite art and top-class entertainment activities.
Not only stopping at artistic kite performances, visitors can also enjoy magic shows and unique fire dances, along with many other impressive activities.
All of these factors will create unique and unforgettable experiences for visitors, turning Quang Nam, including Hoiana, into a must-see destination.
Mr. Orlando Ongkingco - Vice President of the Southeast Asian Kite Association said that he hopes that through the first international kite festival held in Quang Nam, in the near future Vietnam will become an official member of the Southeast Asian Kite Association, contributing to the preservation and promotion of Asia's long-standing kite tradition.
“I believe that traditional and modern kite artisans of Vietnam and the Southeast Asian Kite Association will work together to promote Vietnamese kites to the world,” said Mr. Orlando Ongkingco.
Stimulating tourism
The Quang Nam International Kite Festival 2024 is an international event on kite art held in Quang Nam, a place to exchange, share, preserve and promote the art of kite flying and kite making by artisans from all over the country and around the world. Not only that, this is also an activity expected to bring new colors to attract tourists to Quang Nam.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung said that tourists coming to participate in the kite festival in Hoiana can arrange a reasonable time to visit many famous destinations in Quang Nam not far from Hoiana such as Hoi An Ancient Town Heritage Site, My Son Sanctuary, Cu Lao Cham - Hoi An World Biosphere Reserve, Monument to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers...
At the same time, enjoy traditional folk art forms such as Bai Choi singing, explore more tourist and culinary treasures here to better understand the land of Quang Nam.
“The Quang Nam International Kite Festival 2024 is expected by Quang Nam province to be developed into an international cultural - artistic - tourism event and will be held annually in Quang Nam.
Hopefully, the Quang Nam International Kite Festival 2024 will be a unique product, with high-class performing arts, attracting the attention and enjoyment of domestic and foreign tourists when coming to Quang Nam" - Mr. Le Van Dung said.
“The International Kite Festival has indeed attracted a large number of visitors to Hoiana. We hope that the festival will soon become an annual brand event of Quang Nam province, contributing to making Quang Nam a must-see destination in Central Vietnam,” said Mr. Steven Wolstenholme.
