On the evening of February 2 (January 5), at Xuong Giang Temple in the Special National Relic Site of Xuong Giang Victory, the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Bac Giang City solemnly held the Festival to celebrate the 598th anniversary of the Xuong Giang victory (1427 - 2025).

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the festival, Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Giang City Dang Dinh Hoan said that going back in history, this was where the Lam Son army's siege and the heroic battle to destroy the reinforcements took place in 1427. The victory at Xuong Giang in 1427 ended the 20-year rule of the Ming Dynasty over Dai Viet.

To celebrate the victory over the Ming army, in 1428, after ascending the throne, King Le Loi held a festival to reward his troops and read the "Binh Ngo Dai Cao". In the context of that common joy, in Kinh Bac, where the headquarters was Xuong Giang citadel, he also enjoyed the benefits and organized a big festival to pray to heaven and earth to bestow blessings on the people. From then on, the people of Xuong Giang region held the Xuong Giang victory festival in early spring from the 5th to the 7th of January to arouse pride in this feat. This was also the occasion for the villages around Xuong Giang citadel to organize traditional village festivals. Since then, the Xuong Giang victory festival has become a big festival, attracting the participation of many people in the area around Xuong Giang citadel and tourists from all over.

The Xuong Giang Victory Site and the Xuong Giang Festival have created and carried typical values imbued with the cultural identity of the Kinh Bac - Bac Giang region. In 2009, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism decided to recognize the Xuong Giang Victory Site as a National Historical Relic. In 2019, the Prime Minister decided to recognize the Xuong Giang Victory Site Historical Relic, Bac Giang City as a special National Relic. In 2023, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued Decision No. 3443 on including the Xuong Giang Traditional Festival, Bac Giang City in the List of National Intangible Cultural Heritage.

In particular, the city has completed the arrangement of administrative units and expanded administrative boundaries when merging the entire Yen Dung district. From January 1, 2025, Bac Giang city will enter a new development stage, with full room and space for development to break through and rise up, worthy of being the political, economic, cultural and social center, with a strategic position in socio-economic development, ensuring national defense - security and foreign affairs of the province.

He hoped that all levels, sectors and the entire people would continue to pay attention, help and join hands with the city's Party Committee and government to build Bac Giang city to develop rapidly and sustainably, striving to become a type I urban area by 2030.

For many years, the Xuong Giang festival has been organized by the People's Committee of Bac Giang city on a city scale. The historical festival is also imbued with traditional culture and is the pride of the city's people in particular and Bac Giang province in general; it has the meaning of encouraging the innovation and construction of Bac Giang city to develop more and more. The festival is also an opportunity to introduce to the public and visitors from near and far the land of Bac Giang - cultured - revolutionary - heroic, and the friendly and hospitable people of Bac Giang.

Here, delegates and people enjoyed the special art program "The heroic spirit of Xuong Giang will be passed down forever". The program consisted of 2 parts, part I "Heroic memories"; part II "Glorious Party - Faith and aspiration".

Through the art performance "The heroic spirit of Xuong Giang forever passed down" re-enacts the heroic spirit of our army and people in the fight against foreign invaders to be more proud of the tradition of fighting against foreign invaders of the Vietnamese people, of the people of Xuong Giang, Bac Giang in the historic victory of Xuong Giang.
