Being recognized as a heritage contributes to preserving and promoting traditional beauty in the diverse cultural life of the city.
According to the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, there are currently 63 Lion Dance troupes operating on different scales. Although this sport has a history of hundreds of years of formation and development, it was not until 2021 that the official representative organization was established - the Ho Chi Minh City Lion Dance Federation.
Mr. Lu Chan Loi, President of the Federation, said that since its inception, the Federation has been a place to gather and assemble lion dance troupes in the Chinese community. In addition to introducing and preserving this art form, the Federation also conducts research, surveys, and documents the history, origin, performance skills, costumes, props, and related cultural elements.
Expressing his hopes for the future of this sport, Mr. Lu Chan Loi hopes that the city government will continue to accompany and support the Lion Dance to develop more strongly, becoming an indispensable part of the public's spiritual life.
Sharing at the ceremony, Mr. Luong Tan Hang, Head of Hang Anh Duong Group, emphasized that this recognition is not only a source of pride for those pursuing the Lion Dance but also for the whole community.
He believes that this will contribute to raising awareness of preserving and promoting traditional art, while affirming the value of those who have been attached to this art form from the past to the present.
Hang Anh Duong Group is one of the typical Lion Dance troupes, having performed and competed in many countries such as Japan, China, Malaysia, Philippines... In particular, since 2015, the group has developed strongly nationwide, contributing to bringing Vietnamese Lion Dance art to the international level.

Also at this event, Ho Chi Minh City announced seven more historical and cultural relics ranked at the city level. Of these, three historical relics are communal houses with strong Southern architecture in Thu Duc City, including: An Khanh communal house, Long Binh communal house and Long Hoa communal house. These are not only works with unique architectural values but also closely associated with the process of national liberation and unification.
Four architectural and artistic relics reflect the cultural exchange between Vietnam and India, between Eastern and Western architecture, including: Tan Dinh Market, Mariamman Temple, Trung Vuong High School (District 1) and Saigon University (District 5).
These works not only have historical value but also demonstrate the level of architectural development of Ho Chi Minh City in the past, and their value remains intact today.
According to Mr. Nguyen Minh Nhut, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, the recognition of these relics has raised the total number of historical and cultural relics of the city to 200 works and locations.

These are important symbols that contribute to preserving historical and traditional values, helping the younger generation better understand the process of struggle, construction and development of the city.
At the same time, preserving cultural heritage also arouses national pride, patriotism and responsibility of each citizen in the process of building Ho Chi Minh City to become increasingly developed, civilized and modern.
