Inheriting the 35-year tradition of construction and development, accompanying the renovation of the Party and the nation, the Veterans Association of Binh Thuan province has constantly promoted the tradition and qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", solidarity, dedication, devotion, and great effort, contributing significantly to the cause of building a prosperous homeland.

35 years of construction and development

On December 6, 1989, the Politburo decided to establish the Vietnam Veterans Association. This is an important historical milestone in the political life of the Veterans Association and has become the Association's traditional day. Along with the development of the Vietnam Veterans Association, on March 23, 1990, the Binh Thuan Provincial Veterans Association was established and has so far undergone 7 congresses. Inheriting and promoting the nature of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" and the tradition of "Loyalty, solidarity, exemplary, innovation", under the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association, over the past 35 years, the Binh Thuan Provincial Veterans Association has continuously innovated its content and methods of operation. Currently, the province has 11 grassroots associations (10 district, town, city associations and 1 block 487), 158 grassroots associations, 740 branches with nearly 20,000 veteran members.

Generations of provincial War Veterans continue to promote the nature and tradition of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", upholding the spirit of responsibility, solidarity, self-reliance, dynamism, creativity, striving to successfully implement the Resolutions of the Party Congresses at all levels and excellently completing the assigned tasks. At the same time, building the Association increasingly clean, strong, equal to the tasks and position of a political - social organization, contributing significantly to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, worthy of the trust of the Party Committee, government and people of the province.

Promoting the tradition of "Uncle Ho's soldiers"

Adhering to the principles, purposes and functions of the Association, its members always actively participate in building and protecting the Party, the State, the socialist regime, the people and the great national unity bloc. Cooperate with political and social organizations to effectively implement the grassroots democracy regulations, supervise and provide social criticism, and contribute ideas to the local socio-economic development, national defense and security projects. Cooperate with functional forces to participate in propaganda and solve complicated issues of political security, social order and safety, traffic safety, and fight against corruption and waste. Actively participate in the movements "All people unite to build a cultural life", "The whole country joins hands for the poor - No one is left behind"; Project to implement self-management model in residential communities, villages, residential groups... The whole province currently has 296 models with 4,335 members participating such as security and order models, traffic safety, drug rehabilitation at home, crime prevention; legal propaganda group, reform group, environmental group, political core group.

In addition, in response to the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas", in recent years, war veterans in the province have donated hundreds of thousands of square meters of land, contributed billions of VND and millions of working days to renovate, repair and upgrade roads, canals, bridges, culverts and plant trees. Mobilizing members to donate and support billions of VND to various charity funds. At the same time, implementing the model "Provincial War Veterans Association strengthens solidarity with ethnic and religious compatriots", every year the Provincial War Veterans Association organizes visits and presents gifts, coordinates in organizing medical examinations, consultations, providing free medicine, granting scholarships, repairing and building houses for cadres, war veteran members and ethnic and religious compatriots in difficult circumstances with an amount of over 1 billion VND.

In addition, the Association of War Veterans at all levels always encourages war veterans to promote the spirit of self-reliance, self-improvement, daring to think, daring to do, as well as mobilizing all resources and support from local authorities, departments, branches and organizations, taking advantage of state support policies to promote mutual economic assistance, improve living standards, reduce poverty quickly and sustainably, strive to become rich legally, and contribute to the development of society and the country.

Regularly coordinate to organize patriotic education for the young generation.

At the same time, with the responsibility and affection of the previous generation, the Veterans Association has proactively coordinated with the local Youth Union to organize education on patriotic traditions and revolutionary heroism for the younger generation.

Looking back on the 35-year journey of development and growth, with the continuous efforts of the staff and members, the Association of War Veterans has successfully completed its tasks in all areas of work, contributing to the Party Committee, government and people in the province to excellently complete all assigned tasks. In recognition of its achievements, over the past 35 years, the Association of War Veterans at all levels in the province has been awarded 8 Labor Medals of classes I, II and III by the State; 13 certificates of merit by the Government; 18 emulation flags by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of War Veterans; 3 emulation flags and many certificates of merit by the Ministry of Public Security.
