CTTĐT - The 2025 high school graduation exam is the first high school graduation exam of the 2018 General Education Program, which will take place next June, marking an important milestone in the learning journey of students. The Education and Training Department of Yen Bai province has proactively prepared for the exam.

Chu Van An High School is actively reviewing students to prepare for the 2025 high school graduation exam.

The 2025 high school graduation exam is the first exam to evaluate the results and effectiveness of the 2018 General Education Program. Since 2024, the Ministry of Education and Training has issued a new exam structure to meet the requirements of assessing learners' abilities. In particular, the Literature subject will still be an essay exam but will not test texts in textbooks to limit rote learning, learning from sample texts and promoting candidates' creativity. The remaining subjects will be tested in the form of multiple choice but will also change the question format, not only with objective multiple choice questions but also with true-false multiple choice questions and short answers. This exam is the first official exam to apply this structure.

In addition, on December 24, 2024, the Ministry of Education and Training issued the Regulations on High School Graduation Exams with Circular No. 24/2024/TT-BGDDT. In addition to inheriting the contents that have been smoothly and stably implemented in recent years, the High School Graduation Exam from 2025 has some notable new points, such as: candidates will only participate in 3 exam sessions, including: 1 Literature exam session, 1 Math exam session and 1 optional exam session; the optional exam will be arranged in groups for candidates to take the exam most conveniently and optimize the exam room and exam score.

Continue to use a combination of process assessment scores (report cards) and exam results in graduation recognition, but the average report card score increases by 50% and includes grades 10, 11, and 12 (grades 10 and 11 have a smaller weight than grade 12); foreign language certificates will continue to be used for exam exemption in graduation recognition, but will not be converted into 10 points in graduation recognition as before (the graduation score calculation formula does not include foreign language points).

Eliminate extra points for vocational certificates for all candidates; eliminate extra points for IT certificates, foreign languages, and intermediate vocational certificates for candidates in continuing education; allow foreign candidates to use Vietnamese certificates to be exempted from the Literature exam in the consideration of high school graduation recognition.

Another new feature of this year's exam is that, for the first time in the High School Graduation Exam, there is an additional method of transporting exam papers to the printing point via the transmission system of the Government Cipher Committee. This is an important step forward in the application of technology; helping to transfer original exam papers quickly and promptly, reducing time and personnel.

In order to prepare for the 2025 High School Graduation Exam to take place safely, seriously and effectively, the Department of Education and Training has actively coordinated with media agencies to promote new points of the exams so that parents and public opinion can grasp, agree and students can confidently review and enter the exam; promote the preparation work for the exam organization of the Department of Education and Training and educational institutions in the whole province.

In the direction of teaching and review, right from the beginning of the school year, the Department of Education and Training has issued documents to direct educational institutions to carry out teaching, implement programs, and conduct periodic tests according to the school year plan; continue to direct quality commitments at all levels, focusing on final year students; direct career counseling to help students choose a career that suits their abilities and strengths, thereby choosing appropriate exam subjects and exam blocks.

At the same time, the Department also improved the team of managers and core teachers, directed innovation in professional group activities and thematic activities between schools and clusters of schools to improve the qualifications and professional capacity of the team, the effectiveness of teaching and reviewing; directed schools to proactively develop review plans, suitable for the general education program and the actual situation; increased review time and tutoring for students with poor results.

In particular, when Circular No. 29, dated December 30, 2024 of the Ministry of Education and Training regulating extra teaching and learning takes effect; the Department of Education and Training has directed schools to continue to maintain the stability of organizing free review sessions for final year students, ensuring that students have sufficient knowledge and capacity to enter the exam; directed schools to disseminate new points of the exam; apply to organize regular tests and surveys to evaluate results to continue adjusting the review plan.

The Department of Education and Training has organized two mock high school graduation exams, in November and March, following the common exam questions for the whole province, closely following the new exam structure to help students get familiar with the exam structure; assess the current teaching and learning situation; continue to direct and adjust the review plan; help teachers and students practice the exam regulations and procedures.

Ms. To Thi Anh - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training said: On March 20, the Ministry of Education and Training issued Official Dispatch No. 1195/BGDĐT-QLCL affirming to keep the exam schedule as announced, that is, from June 26 to June 27. Therefore, schools need to be proactive in planning and reviewing with final year students; professional groups and departments need to assign specific tasks so that each teacher is responsible for reviewing and training students to ensure effectiveness. Strengthen the organization of specialized activities, gradually transform digitally in teaching and reviewing. Students themselves also need to proactively follow and implement well the program, textbooks, and requirements on qualities and abilities of the 2018 General Education Program; study the Ministry's reference exam set, two sets of trial exam sets of the Department to practice, get familiar with the exam format and the method of testing by lesson to continue to review; Do not study too much, leading to overload; be calm - confident - do not create pressure, psychologically during the review and exam period.
