Ceremony to announce Tra Tan commune reaching advanced new rural standards

On August 25, the District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Duc Linh district held a ceremony to announce the decision of the Chairman of Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee recognizing Tra Tan commune, Duc Linh district as meeting advanced new rural standards in 2022.

Accordingly, Tra Tan commune has a natural area of 3,781 hectares, a population of 2,237 households/8,500 people; has 4 villages, including 1 ethnic minority village. The national target program on new rural construction began in Tra Tan in 2011, and by 2018, the commune was recognized as a new rural commune. Immediately after receiving the decision to recognize the commune as meeting new rural standards, the Party Committee and the commune government continued to implement many solutions to maintain and improve the quality and effectiveness of the criteria with the goal of advanced new rural areas and model new rural areas.

In 2022, the commune launched and registered to build an advanced new rural area. With the perseverance, efforts and determination of the Party Committee, the government, the entire political system and the people in the commune, the construction of an advanced new rural area in the commune has achieved encouraging results. For example, in Tra Tan commune, 50,783 km of roads have been approved. Up to now, the rural traffic system in the commune is increasingly synchronous and spacious. The irrigation system is increasingly complete, the works are invested in construction, upgraded synchronously, in a multi-purpose direction, meeting the requirements of restructuring the agricultural sector. Currently, 95.07% of the commune's agricultural land area is actively irrigated; advanced irrigation measures have been applied to save water for upland crops. The electricity system in the commune fully meets the requirements of regulations, serving well the needs of production, business and people's lives. The rate of households using electricity from the national grid is 100%. The school system at all levels is given special attention and priority for investment resources. Up to now, all kindergartens, primary schools and secondary schools in the commune have met the standards of facilities according to the criteria of advanced NTM. At the same time, the rate of communes with sufficient cultural facilities has increased rapidly. The commune has a multi-purpose cultural house and sports ground; 100% of villages have a cultural house or a place for cultural and sports activities to serve the community...

In addition, agricultural production is developing in the direction of concentrated goods applying high technology, clean agriculture and organic agriculture. The speed of production mechanization is increasing rapidly, helping to reduce losses and costs in production. The OCOP program is widely implemented and has achieved many positive results. In the commune, there are 2 OCOP products: Tafa grilled chicken eggs and TAFA fresh chicken eggs certified with 4 stars at the provincial level. In Tra Tan commune, there are no households living in temporary houses or dilapidated houses...

At the ceremony, authorized by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Mai Kieu - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and Mr. Nguyen Van Huy - Secretary of Duc Linh District Party Committee awarded the certificate of recognition to Tra Tan commune for meeting the advanced NTM standards in 2022. On this occasion, Tra Tan Commune People's Committee awarded collectives and individuals with many positive contributions to the movement "Joining hands and hearts to build advanced new rural areas" in 2022. At the same time, launched the emulation movement of the model NTM movement.

It is known that on June 19, 2023, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee issued a decision to recognize communes that meet the standards of NTM and advanced NTM in 2022. In which, Tra Tan commune, Duc Linh district is the only commune in the province to be recognized as an advanced NTM commune.
