Leaders of An Giang Provincial People's Committee inspect the construction progress of Chau Doc - Can Tho

- On the morning of March 21, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ngo Cong Thuc and a delegation of provincial departments, branches and sectors inspected the construction progress of Component Project 1 (part of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Construction Investment Project, Phase 1) passing through An Giang province.

Up to now, the total output of the 4 main construction packages is nearly 47% (exceeding about 0.27%) compared to the contract value. The People's Committees of Chau Doc City, Chau Phu, Chau Thanh, Thoai Son districts (An Giang province) and Vinh Thanh (Can Tho city) have approved the compensation plan for 1,555/1,555 households, the amount of 1,757 billion VND; compensation has been paid to 1,547 households, the amount of 1,736 billion VND. Sand suppliers have provided Component Project 1 with more than 3.4 million m3 (out of the total volume of 9.3 million ^m3 of sand needed for the project).

During the inspection of the expressway section passing through Chau Doc City, Chau Phu and Chau Thanh districts, comrade Ngo Cong Thuc requested the contractors assigned to mines under a special mechanism to speed up the progress of supplying materials for Component Project 1; have technical solutions (increasing loading capacity, reducing settlement waiting time, handling weak soil, etc.) to ensure technical requirements, meeting the project implementation progress. Strengthen the management and supervision of the contractor's mineral exploitation and use activities, direct the contractor to fully perform tax, fee and other financial obligations in accordance with the law; increase machinery, equipment, construction personnel, speed up the progress and bring Component Project 1 to the finish line ahead of schedule.

According to the An Giang Provincial Project Management Board, the unit has requested the main construction contractors to review and re-establish the monthly construction plan in 2025 and 2026, aiming to complete the project and put it into operation in June 2026 in accordance with the direction of the Prime Minister (at the meeting on March 18, 2025).
