The writing contest "Deep memories of teachers and school" in 2024 has created an increasingly stronger emotional connection between teachers and students, between schools and students.

On the morning of November 22, in Hanoi, the closing ceremony and award ceremony of the writing contest "Deep memories of teachers and school" in 2024 took place.

Journalist Trieu Ngoc Lam, Editor-in-Chief of Education and Times Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the Contest, said that the writing contest "Deep memories of teachers and schools" in 2024 was organized by the Ministry of Education and Training and assigned Education and Times Newspaper as the permanent unit to implement.

The contest is organized to recognize and honor teachers who have good jobs and achievements, and make positive contributions to educational innovation; recognize and honor educational institutions with many innovations and creativity in teaching and learning; and spread the good feelings of students and parents towards teachers and schools.

In 2024, the contest was launched and accepted entries from September 2024. After 2 months of launching, the contest has received the response and participation of many authors across the country and many quality works. The Organizing Committee has received more than 85,000 entries. The number of entries shows that the contest has been vibrant and spread strongly in schools. At the same time, it also shows the interest and support of many readers and people about the meaning of the contest.

This year, the quality of the entries has changed significantly. Many articles are very passionate, leaving deep emotions. There are many beautiful, touching stories about the love, responsibility, perseverance, dedication, understanding, and skillful pedagogical behavior of teachers towards students; helping students change from boredom to love learning, from self-consciousness to confidence, from people who always think they are failures to success...

According to Mr. Trieu Ngoc Lam, this year there were more entries about collective writing. This is a difficult topic to write about well, but the authors succeeded by skillfully exploiting the story on the basis of really high-quality material. The content of the entries also related to current issues, such as teacher secondment, difficulties caused by Typhoon Yagi, etc.

"The image of teachers is viewed from a multi-dimensional, multi-faceted perspective, but no matter the angle, the entries are all beautiful, unique images of teachers. Many students have become teachers and are now directly teaching, resonating with their own teachers," journalist Trieu Ngoc Lam shared.

Sharing at the award ceremony, Ms. Dang Hoang Anh, Vice President of Vietnam Education Trade Union, Deputy Head of the Final Jury of the contest said that after many years of organization, the contest has created a positive spread and effect in schools in particular and society in general.

Each work is a nuance of emotion, a profound memory, a mark of a student's life associated with the noble emotions of teacher-student relationship, making the reader seem to live in the author's time and space of memories.

According to Ms. Hoang Anh, all of these have portrayed a colorful picture of teachers - talented, dedicated and devoted to their students, to their beloved school; students who strive to overcome difficulties with the guidance of teachers and the love of friends to grow up.

“That made it really difficult for the judges to choose the winning entries, especially those that made it to the final round. All of them were worthy, but the winning entries, for us, were the ones that gave readers the most genuine emotions, coming in the most natural way,” Ms. Dang Hoang Anh shared.

According to Ms. Hoang Anh, the contest has created an increasingly stronger emotional connection between teachers and students, between schools and students; strengthening the close relationship between schools, families and society to join hands in educating future generations.

“I think this is a contest with profound humanistic meaning, which needs to be promoted and maintained annually. This is also a way to preserve and promote the fine tradition of ‘respecting teachers’ of our nation,” Ms. Dang Hoang Anh shared.

The Organizing Committee awarded 2 First Prizes, 4 Second Prizes, 6 Third Prizes and 10 Encouragement Prizes. In addition, there were 4 Consolation Prizes, 2 Outstanding Character Prizes and 2 collectives with many entries of good quality.

- First Prize: The work Bass Guitar by Vo Thi Be, Teacher at Vinh Dinh High School, Trieu Phong District, Quang Tri Province; The work Alluvial Sediment by Nguyen Binh An, Teacher at Chau Phong High School, Chau Phong Commune, Tan Chau Town, An Giang Province.

- Second Prize: The work My teacher is disabled but not crippled, poor but noble by Vo Thi Duyen, teacher at Cua Viet town kindergarten, Gio Linh district, Quang Tri province; the work Nursery by Ha Thi Huyen, teacher at Hoang Kim secondary school, Me Linh district, Hanoi city; the work Pi and the rainbow by Dao Thi Nu, People's Committee of Song Mai commune, Kim Dong district, Hung Yen province; the work The person who sows seeds on the rock by Gia Thi Lan, student of class 9A2, Can Chu Phin secondary school for ethnic minorities, Meo Vac district, Ha Giang province.
