Ho Chi Minh City Women's Football Club has excellently won the right to enter the quarter-finals of the AFC Women's Champions League 2024-2025 after a 3-1 victory over Odisha (India) last night (October 9). The representative of Vietnamese women's football at this season's AFC Women's Champions League has won both of their past matches.
Huynh Nhu has returned and contributed greatly to helping HCMC Women's Club quickly win a ticket to pass the group stage. The "diamond girl" of Vietnamese women's football scored 3 goals in the first 2 matches of the HCMC women's team in this tournament, despite having to endure pain at times while playing. HCMC Women's Club not only has Huynh Nhu, but also veteran Thuy Trang who plays very dedicatedly and effectively.
The team's foreign players, including 3 positions playing in the "vertical axis": Center back, central midfielder and striker, performed well. Young players like Hong Nhung, who scored the winning goal to make it 3-1 against Odisha Club, also had impressive performances. Coach Nguyen Hong Pham affirmed that the HCMC Women's Club will try to solve each match and overcome each stage in this year's tournament. Odisha coach Crispin Chettri highly appreciated Ho Chi Minh City Club, especially Huynh Nhu and many other bright faces of the women's team. The opponent of HCMC Women's Club will be determined after the final round of group stage matches, taking place on the evening of October 12.
