To gradually realize the goal of “Developing the town in the direction of a commercial, service and tourism urban area”, La Gi town identifies tourism as one of the key economic sectors to promote urban development in the direction of green, clean, beautiful and modern. On the other hand, to create a typical landscape for the coastal city, at this time, La Gi town is coordinating with relevant departments and branches to complete the procedures to build a coastal road connecting La Gi tourism.
Increase of 22,000 visitors compared to the same period
Located in the south of the province, between the tourist paradises of Phan Thiet City and Vung Tau City, La Gi Town has quickly grown and gradually become the main nucleus in the economic development and sea tourism of the province. Since the establishment of the town, in order to gradually realize the general goal of "developing the town in the direction of a commercial, service, and tourism urban area", the La Gi Town government has set out many main and specific tasks and solutions. In particular, trade, service, tourism, industry, and construction are identified as breakthroughs for economic development; tourism in particular is the key economic sector. From infrastructure, transportation, electricity, and water are invested in and developed to security, order, environmental sanitation, and commercial civilization at tourist destinations are focused on. And since then, La Gi has become a destination for domestic and foreign investors and tourists with cultural, religious, festival, and marine ecological resort tourism with new and attractive tourism products and services.
Mr. Vo Hoai Vinh - Deputy Head of the Department of Culture and Information of La Gi town said: Every year, the number of tourists coming to visit and relax increases by an average of 9.45%, the length of stay is increasing. In 2023 alone, as of September 30, the number of tourists coming to La Gi town was nearly 250,000 (63,000 staying guests), an increase of 22,000 over the same period. Revenue from tourism services reached 156 billion VND, an increase of 12.37% over the same period. This is an impressive growth figure of the "smokeless industry" compared to some other localities in the province. With the advantage and potential of "Blue sea - white sand - yellow sunshine", many famous tourist destinations are known to tourists such as Nganh Tam Tan - Dinh Thay Thim, Mom Da Chim, Dat Lanh Resort, Doi Duong Ba That, Cam Binh Community Tourism Area...
In addition, in response to the National Tourism Year 2023 "Binh Thuan - Green Convergence", since the beginning of the year, the town has developed tourism products with local characteristics and attractions. Diversifying tourism products such as eco-tourism, craft villages, resorts, cultural history, beliefs, spirituality... In particular, the Dinh Thay Thim Cultural Tourism Festival in 2023, held from October 28 to 30, 2023, will ensure seriousness and solemnity, according to the State's regulations on festival organization. Coastal route expectations
Chairman of La Gi Town People's Committee Pham Trong Nhan said that with 28km of coastline and beautiful natural landscape, La Gi has many favorable conditions for developing tourism and marine economy. However, in general, the local tourism industry has not yet developed commensurate with its potential and available advantages, and many coastal tourism projects are still facing difficulties in investment and construction because there is no convenient access route. Currently, La Gi Town is coordinating with relevant departments and branches to complete the next procedures to implement the La Gi coastal tourism road project. Phase 1 of the project has a total length of about 2.95km, of which the coastal tourism road is about 2.5km long. The project implementation period is at the end of the 2021 - 2025 period and transitions to the 2026 - 2030 period with a total estimated investment of more than 235 billion VND...
La Gi coastal tourism road will contribute to creating a unique landscape for the coastal city, developing the local trade and tourism services industry, contributing to implementing the tasks of activities according to the theme of 2023 selected by the Provincial Party Committee (term XIV): "Urban beautification, preserving and protecting the environment, green, clean and beautiful landscape" associated with coordinating the good organization of the National Tourism Year 2023 in Binh Thuan. At the same time, synchronously and modernly connecting the technical infrastructure system for the inner and outer coastal areas to build La Gi with a sustainable urban structure. Thereby, creating resources to form key projects to develop the coastal area of the town.
In addition, to build the town into a safe, friendly and attractive destination for tourists, the Town People's Committee will continue to promote the image of La Gi tourism associated with the historical and cultural values of the locality. Along with that, strengthen the assurance of security and order, environmental sanitation, food safety and hygiene, and tourism civilization at tourist destinations.
