FDI capital increased sharply
On the first working day of 2025, Bac Ninh province granted Investment Registration Certificates and investment policy approval decisions to 18 domestic and foreign enterprises with a total capital of 1.8 billion USD, of which capital alone is 1.8 billion USD. foreign direct investment (FDI) is 1.67 billion USD (completed plan in 2025).
Director of the Department of Finance Nguyen Viet Hung said that FDI attraction in Bac Ninh from the beginning of 2025 to now has increased 3.9 times in terms of newly registered capital and adjusted increase compared to the same period in 2024, making Bac Ninh continue to lead the country in attracting FDI.
Bac Ninh has been steadfast in choosing to attract FDI projects according to the criteria of "Two less - Three high - Four ready - One no" (that is, less land use, less labor use; high investment capital of FDI projects, high technology, high economic efficiency; ready land, ready high-quality human resources, ready mechanism - procedural reform, ready support, solve difficulties and no environmental pollution). Every quarter, the provincial leaders organize meetings with business people and are ready to dialogue and remove difficulties for businesses.
Secretary of Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Anh Tuan affirmed that the province always welcomes and highly appreciates the contributions of FDI enterprises for the locality, and at the same time committed to accompanying investors in the development process. At this working session, the provincial leaders directly answered the enterprises' recommendations on project implementation sites; building dormitories for experts and workers, granting work permits to foreigners, renovating and connecting traffic in the area...
In 2024, Hai Phong city will attract 4.9 billion USD in FDI capital, an increase of nearly 1.3 times compared to 2023, ranking second in the country. In 2025, Hai Phong aims to attract 4.5 billion USD in FDI capital.
Head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board Le Trung Kien said that since the beginning of the year, the city has organized investment promotion delegations to countries with strengths in developing high-tech industries, the world's leading economic groups in the fields of electricity, electronics, semiconductor chips, etc.
Many cooperation agreements, memorandums of understanding, and investment commitments in existing industrial parks as well as the Southern Coastal Economic Zone and industrial parks under construction have been signed, opening up positive prospects in the near future... In the first two months of 2025, the city attracted 278 million USD in FDI capital, bringing the total number of valid FDI projects to more than 1,000 projects from 42 countries and territories with a total investment capital of 34.31 billion USD, contributing more than 86% of the city's export value.
Mr. Chen Chi Liang, General Director of Pegatron Vietnam Company, said that a safe social environment and business investment environment are prerequisites for businesses to continuously invest in finance, technology, equipment, and expand production scale in Hai Phong. After 5 years of operation here, from a factory of more than 275,000m2 producing electronic components and semiconductors, in 2025, the company invested in and put into use two more factories of more than 384,000m2 and built two more buildings of more than 515,000m2 to continue expanding production. Currently, the company has nearly 6,000 employees and is expected to increase to more than 10,000 employees in the near future...
Ha Nam Province also strives to achieve the goal of attracting 1 billion USD of FDI capital in 2025, attracting 500 million USD in the first quarter alone, a good start for the province to soon complete and exceed the set plan. With the perspective of planning and developing industrial parks associated with urban and service areas; prioritizing attracting high-tech, environmentally friendly industries, the province continues to select reputable investors with economic potential.
Recently, Ha Nam was allowed by the Prime Minister to establish a High-Tech Park with an area of 663 hectares in Ly Nhan district. The province has invested in convenient traffic routes from the High-Tech Park connecting with the road connecting the two expressways Hanoi-Hai Phong and Cau Gie-Ninh Binh.
Expanding infrastructure to welcome big investors
Provincial and municipal leaders always accompany and pay special attention, providing substantial and effective support to promote FDI enterprises.
Hai Phong Party Secretary Le Tien Chau emphasized that by 2025, Hai Phong will strive to achieve an economic growth rate of 12.5%, actively contributing to the country's goal of achieving a growth rate of 8% or more. Therefore, the city is focusing on investing in expanding and developing new economic growth drivers. In particular, the Hai Phong Southern Coastal Economic Zone with a scale of 20,000 hectares is oriented to be a multi-industry green economic zone of international stature, with development pillars of high-tech industry, modern logistics services, smart urban areas, eco-tourism and new-generation free trade zones... being established will create conditions for Hai Phong to pilot new mechanisms and policies, creating an open and favorable investment environment, attracting resources from within and outside the country.
With the province's determination to achieve double-digit economic growth in 2025, from now until the end of 2025, Bac Ninh province will continue to promote foreign affairs activities and proactively promote investment in potential markets.
Encouraging investment resources in industry and services, focusing on potential industries, transforming and attracting investment in new industry groups, the province will work with large FDI investors to increase the occupancy rate of industrial parks and clusters, and prepare infrastructure to welcome large investment projects.
The People's Committee of Ha Nam province has directed the Provincial Industrial Park Management Board to coordinate with localities to focus on developing infrastructure connecting with industrial parks; sectors to plan social housing areas, implement construction, ensure that when the industrial park comes into operation, there will be social housing for workers; prepare infrastructure, clean land, energy, and human resources to attract large investment projects.
Comrade Truong Quoc Huy, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Nam province, requested departments, branches and localities in the province to pay attention to, grasp and promptly remove difficulties for enterprises, especially site clearance; reform administrative procedures, reduce costs for enterprises, helping enterprises to soon come into operation.
