Promoting "Digital Literacy for All"
Over the past 10 days, volunteers of the "Digital Education for the People" team in Tay Ho district, who are key Youth Union and Association officials with knowledge of digital transformation, have been regularly on duty at the Hanoi City Public Administration Service Center, Tay Ho branch (No. 657 Lac Long Quan Street and No. 258 Vo Chi Cong Street, Xuan La Ward) to support and guide people in performing online public services and administrative procedures on public service kiosks.
Directly participating in the team, Secretary of Phu Thuong Ward Youth Union Hoang Duc Lap shared: “In the past few days, 80 youth union members have participated in supporting people at the Center. In addition to supporting people in completing administrative procedures, we also guide people in using other digital technology applications, such as installing the iHanoi application, using online banking, ensuring safety in transactions and protecting personal information”.
Coming to do the procedure to transfer the land use right certificate, Ms. Dinh Phuong Anh (Xuan La ward) said: "The young people guided me very enthusiastically to fill out the online application so it was done quickly."
In Dong Da district, Secretary of the District Youth Union Nguyen Thi Thanh Tam said: The District Youth Union organized training for 17 youth volunteer teams "Digital Literacy for the People". Young people "went to every alley, knocked on every door" to propagate and support the dissemination of information technology knowledge and skills to people; organized direct and online courses on essential digital skills. Young people also guided people to use online public services and interact with the government via digital platforms; cashless electronic payment skills and other digital applications.
The “Digital Education for All” movement is being strongly responded to by all levels of the Youth Union across the city, demonstrating the pioneering and creative spirit in the digital age. This is also the core content of Youth Month, concretizing the Action Program of the Central Youth Union to implement Resolution No. 57-NQ/TU dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on “Breakthrough in science, technology development, innovation and national digital transformation”.
In the first 3 weeks of Youth Month alone, the city's Youth Union and Association organizations deployed 86 volunteer youth teams for "Digital Literacy for All" and 78 activities to popularize digital skills for more than 15,000 people.
Many meaningful projects and works
With the desire that children in Van Dien village (Tu Hiep commune, Thanh Tri district) have meaningful experiences outside of school hours, the Tu Hiep commune Youth Union has coordinated with the Central Endocrinology Hospital, primary and secondary school teams in the district to carry out the project: "Mural painting - Connecting heritage", nearly 50m long. Tu Hiep commune Youth Union Secretary Vu Thu Hang said: "More than 20 paintings depicting historical relics and special places of Vietnam, from Lung Cu Flagpole to Ca Mau Cape have been made. Through the paintings, people and children can learn more about the original culture, the beautiful landscapes of the country as well as promote the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland".
Meanwhile, in addition to responding to the theme "The Capital's youth are proud and firmly believe in the Party", Long Bien youth also launched a competition to implement the district's annual work theme "Year of action for landscape, urban environment and digital transformation". Many activities were organized, such as: Launching the model of the Youth Self-Managed Road; inaugurating the Children's Playground worth 50 million VND; presenting 20 gifts to children in difficult circumstances...
Thanh Oai District Youth Union organized the Youth Festival for the Community in 2025, with activities such as medical examination, gift giving, and medicine distribution for nearly 200 war invalids and former youth volunteers; inaugurating youth projects; launching a general environmental sanitation campaign... Through the work of the Youth Union bases, a beautiful image of a generation of young people living responsibly, knowing how to contribute and share, is recognized and highly appreciated by the Party Committee, government, and people.
According to a report from the Hanoi Youth Union, in recent days, districts, towns and cities have launched the Peak Day of volunteering to build civilized urban areas and new rural areas; implementing 85 district-level youth projects and 277 commune-level youth projects, with a total resource of more than 6 billion VND. In addition, union members and youth have planted more than 53,000 new trees and maintained the implementation of 245 "Bright - Green - Clean - Beautiful - Civilized - Safe" routes...
Secretary of the Hanoi Youth Union Chu Hong Minh said: In order for the activities of Youth Month to be substantive, right from the planning stage, the Standing Committee of the City Youth Union has thoroughly grasped: Activities must be implemented to ensure practicality, effectiveness, depth, and attract a large number of union members and young people to participate. In organizing activities, it is necessary to carry out 3 linkages: "Linking forces, linking localities, linking communities" to promote the role of shock, volunteerism, pioneering spirit, and creativity of union members and young people. In particular, activities must closely follow the focus of union work and the youth and children's movement in 2025, associated with local political tasks.
In the coming time, the Youth Union at all levels will continue to implement activities in a creative and scientific manner, creating a vibrant and widespread atmosphere, spreading the motto: Practical action - Sustainable effectiveness. At the same time, promoting the flame of enthusiasm, the youth of the capital will constantly train, strive and contribute, making their mark and affirming the role of youth in the new era.
