Dak Nong strives to eliminate 540 temporary houses by July 2025

Dak Nong strives to complete 540 houses for people in need of temporary and dilapidated houses before July 15, 2 months earlier than the plan set by the Provincial Party Committee.

At the 19th Conference of the Dak Nong Provincial Party Committee, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ton Thi Ngoc Hanh said that the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses was carried out resolutely, ensuring progress and quality.

Specifically, the whole province has 540 poor and near-poor households registering for support to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, of which 346 new houses were built and 194 houses were repaired.

According to the plan, in the first phase, Dak Nong province will build 113 houses, with a budget of 6.8 billion VND (this is the budget mobilized to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the province's re-establishment).

Since early March, districts and cities in the province have completed groundbreaking ceremonies to demolish temporary and dilapidated houses in the locality. Up to now, the whole province has started construction on 81 houses, of which Krong No district has started the most with 31 houses.

TUV, Vice Chairman of Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee Ton Thi Ngoc Hanh informed that by March 2025, Dak Nong province had started construction of about 80 houses under the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses launched by the Prime Minister. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee proposed that the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee consider and approve the policy of continuing to recruit educational officials.

The Vice Chairman of Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee said that in addition to resources from the Central Government, Dak Nong province has received a number of other funding sources.

Regarding the funding source of 10 billion VND supported by Bac Ninh province, it has been transferred to the Department of Finance so that this unit can complete the procedures to transfer to the account of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province. On that basis, the Department of Agriculture and Environment advised the Provincial People's Committee to plan to continue building 166 houses (equivalent to 10 billion VND) in the second phase of the Program implementation.

Regarding the VND 10 billion funding source supported by KN Group, it is expected that the enterprise will transfer it to the province by the end of April 2025. After completing the procedures, the Department of Agriculture and Environment will advise the Provincial People's Committee on a plan to continue building the remaining houses.

The Vice Chairman of the Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee said that the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses has received regular attention and direction from the leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; the strong and drastic participation of authorities at all levels, the business community, and the people. Dak Nong province strives to complete 540 houses before July 15, 2025, 2 months earlier than the plan set by the Provincial Party Committee.
