At the ceremony, comrade Nguyen Long Bien, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, read a speech reviewing the glorious tradition of 90 years of building, fighting and growing of the Militia and Self-Defense Force. As a part of the Vietnam People's Armed Forces, over the past 90 years, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam; the attention and facilitation of all levels, sectors, localities and the People, the Militia and Self-Defense Force has continuously grown and matured, achieved many outstanding achievements, contributing worthily to the cause of national liberation, protecting the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the cause of comprehensive development and innovation of the country.

For the Ninh Thuan provincial militia and self-defense force, since its inception, construction, fighting and growing up to now, it has always been educated, trained, protected, sheltered and nurtured by the Party Committee, the government and the people of all ethnic groups in the province. It has gradually matured through fighting and promoted its role as the core force for the entire people to fight the enemy in the cause of national liberation and protection of the Fatherland in the locality. After 33 years of re-establishment of the province, the Ninh Thuan provincial militia and self-defense force has been built firmly in all aspects, with reasonable quantity, high quality, organized with all components according to regulations, the rate of party members reaching over 27%, union members reaching over 67%; actively participating in maintaining political security, social order and safety, preventing natural disasters, searching and rescuing, and working and producing, worthy of the trust of the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in the province.

On behalf of the provincial militia and self-defense force, Colonel Nguyen Tuy, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command expressed his deep gratitude for the attention of the provincial leaders, departments, branches and localities to the militia and self-defense force. At the same time, he affirmed that, inheriting the glorious tradition of the Vietnam militia and self-defense force, the Ninh Thuan militia and self-defense force will continue to perform well the assigned tasks, worthy of being the core political force at the grassroots level, ready to fight and protect the locality in all situations.
