Criminal detention of the subject who slashed someone

- On the afternoon of March 17, the Criminal Police Department of the Provincial Police announced that it had just issued a decision to temporarily detain Tran Anh Tuan (born in 2001, residing in Dong Thinh 3 Hamlet, My Phuoc Ward, Long Xuyen City) to continue investigating and clarifying the act of "Murder" and handle it according to the law after Tuan used a homemade knife to attack Lam Van Ut (born in 1974, residing in My Binh Ward, Long Xuyen City) on the night of March 16.

According to initial information, at around 6:00 p.m. on March 16, Tuan drove a motorbike with license plate 67B1-327.78 to his wife's parents' house in My Hoa Hung commune to pick up his wife and child, but Tuan and his wife had an argument so Tuan took his child home alone. When arriving at Tra On ferry terminal (My Hoa Hung commune), Tuan did not comply with the regulations on buying a ferry ticket so Ut did not let him go, but Tuan still accelerated and ran down the ferry, but was scolded by Ut, so Tuan got angry and had the intention of beating Ut.

After that, Tuan went home to get a homemade knife and went back to Tra On ferry to find Ut and slashed him. When getting off the ferry, Tuan hid the knife in his shirt to avoid being discovered. When he reached the My Hoa commune bank, Hung drove back to the ticket control desk where Ut was collecting tickets, stopped the car, argued with Ut, and suddenly pulled out a knife to slash Ut. Ut ran away and was chased by Tuan. After running about 50m, he caught up and slashed Ut many times with a knife.

According to the injury assessment at An Giang Central General Hospital, Ut was injured in his right hand, left wrist, shoulder area, torn hamstring, and cracked skull.

After committing the crime, Tuan drove to Tran Viet Cuong's house (Tuan's uncle) to park his car and threw the knife into the pond behind the house, and threw his clothes into the Hau River. At around 10 p.m. the same day, Tuan asked Cuong to drive him to Tra On ferry and called Nguyen Thi To Quyen (born in 1979, Tuan's biological mother) to pick him up. Upon receiving the report, the Criminal Police Department quickly arrived at the scene, investigated and identified the suspect and the vehicle.

Through investigation, at around 2:00 a.m. on March 17, the police identified Tuan as a suspect and brought him to the police station for questioning. Tuan confessed to the incident.
