Tan Son Nhat Air Traffic Control Station safely operated 1,002 flights taking off and landing at Tan Son Nhat Airport in one day for the first time, surpassing the highest level of 2019.
According to the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM), on the 25th day of the 12th lunar month of the Lunar New Year 2025, Tan Son Nhat Air Traffic Control Station safely operated 1,002 flights taking off and landing at Tan Son Nhat airport, exceeding the highest level of 2019 (before the Covid 19 pandemic) with 988 flights.
Tan Son Nhat Airport is bustling during the days leading up to Lunar New Year 2025.
All three peak hours have a maximum capacity of 48 flights per hour (slots) licensed by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam.
Accordingly, the Southern Air Traffic Management Company has proactively implemented many measures to ensure safety and efficiency of flight operations, especially during the peak period before, during and after Tet.
The company has thoroughly inspected all flight equipment systems and performed maintenance in accordance with regulations to ensure readiness and stability. Employees are encouraged to minimize leave, only taking leave when absolutely necessary. This enhances their sense of responsibility and focus on work.
In addition, the Company also reviews and evaluates technical risks to propose effective preventive measures. The communication and air traffic monitoring systems are maintained in stable operation. The Air Traffic, Safety - Quality and Security departments coordinate closely to directly and indirectly monitor at flight control facilities.

In addition, the company's leaders also established a Pre-Tactical Team, coordinating between the on-duty staff and the flight operations facility, meeting daily at 4:30 p.m. to analyze weather trends, flight density at airports across the country and high-density airports such as Tan Son Nhat, Noi Bai, Da Nang. At the same time, update important information to build effective flight operations plans.
To effectively coordinate air traffic during peak hours, Ho Chi Minh Long-distance Control Center coordinates with the Air Traffic Flow Management Center to regulate air traffic with a density of up to 15-18 flights every 15 minutes in zone 1.
At Tan Son Nhat Airport, the Approach Control Center - At the airport has proactively coordinated with Tan Son Nhat Airport and relevant agencies to deploy the A-CDM model (collaborative decision-making model) to ensure safe, smooth and efficient flight operations.
