Speaking to reporters at a joint press conference after the talks, President Biden said the two sides discussed "steadfast support for the Ukrainian people."
According to TASS , the two countries' authorities intend to strengthen their partnership "on the strategy, design, targeting, implementation and enforcement of sanctions."
Specifically, the two sides will jointly address issues of sanctions evasion and jointly plan to target those facilitating Moscow's special military operations in Russia, Belarus and third countries, including those that help Russia obtain goods and technology to support its military.
The US and UK intend to enhance the ability to collect, analyze and share information and data between structures, companies and financial institutions responsible for sanctions, in order to identify companies and individuals that financially support or facilitate payments to the Russian military.
During the talks, the two leaders agreed to strengthen close bilateral economic ties, committed to accelerating the clean energy transition and strengthening critical mineral supply chains.
President Biden and Chancellor Sunak signed the "Atlantic Declaration", which the British leader described as an unprecedented economic partnership, outlining future cooperation on issues such as artificial intelligence (AI), as well as other economic and trade relationships.
“I know some people have wondered what kind of partner Britain will be after leaving the European Union,” Mr Sunak said. “Judge us by our actions. We are more committed to our values than ever, a more reliable ally than ever and a more attractive investment destination than ever.”
According to the British Prime Minister, the meeting with President Biden mentioned the issue of safety when using AI, and said that the UK will hold the first summit on this issue next fall to discuss how to minimize risks from AI through coordinated action by the international community.
In addition, the US and UK will create a new alliance to protect supply chains and navigate a global economy where new powers are "manipulating markets, withholding vital resources and trying to establish control over industries that will define our future".
This is the first time Prime Minister Sunak has visited the White House since taking office last October and the fourth time the two leaders have met in more than half a year.
