Ho Chi Minh City police have discovered 219 cases with 346 subjects; prosecuted 81 cases with 217 defendants who are debt collectors for the crimes of "Lending at high interest rates in civil transactions", "Extortion of property" through debt collection methods such as threats, terrorism, and spreading false information; and administratively sanctioned 29 cases with 29 subjects.
On November 26, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department said that over the past year, the unit has focused on cracking down on criminal gangs “hiding behind” pawnshops, financial companies, law firms, “loan sharks” and subsequent debt collection activities that show signs of violating the law.

Most of the very serious and especially serious cases that have attracted public attention have been investigated, discovered and the perpetrators quickly arrested. These include the robbery at the Sacombank Branch on Pham The Hien Street, District 8, where 3 suspects were arrested; and the arrest of 3 suspects for robbery at the Nhi Xuan Transaction Office - Sacombank in Hoc Mon District.

Along with that, the Ho Chi Minh City Police have also strengthened professional measures to effectively combat organized crime gangs. Typically, the Criminal Police Department (PC02), Ho Chi Minh City Police and District 8 Police dismantled a gang led by Chau Phat Ti specializing in protection racket activities and property extortion at Binh Dien wholesale market. During the extended investigation, the police discovered and arrested another "gangster" group led by Nguyen Van Tuan.
Ho Chi Minh City police also innovated patrol and control methods, promoting the effectiveness of patrol force 363 to promptly detect, prevent and handle crimes and law violations; checked nearly 13,000 times with 14,682 suspects... handing over to local police for handling.
At the same time, 6 groups (84 vehicles) gathered were dispersed; the 363 Police force of District 12 discovered 1 case and prosecuted 11 subjects for the crimes of "Disturbing public order" and "Intentionally causing injury" because 2 groups of young people made an appointment to resolve a conflict.
