Ten articles of various genres, from commentary, reflection, reportage, interview, photo reportage, megastory, to infographics...; a total of 36 printed pages with valuable information content distilled from a huge amount of documents, meetings, interviews with French and Vietnamese experts, and especially from two working trips of the group of authors in Bac Giang and Dien Bien.
These are the numbers showing the efforts of the group of authors: Bui Phuong, Cao Thi Hoang Hoa, Phan Thi Van Anh of Le Courrier du Vietnam Newspaper (Vietnam News Agency) in the process of creating a series of works in French: "Dien Bien Phu: 70 years of heroic history and a heroic, innovative Dien Bien".
Journalist Bui Phuong shared: To implement the Information Plan to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory of VNA, Le Courrier du Vietnam newspaper identified this as an important information route in 2024. Right from the beginning of the year, under the direction of the Editorial Board, a group of 3 reporters was assigned to carry out this information route to publish on 2 special issues of the weekly newspaper in May and a number of articles published on the online newspaper.
“We contacted, met and interviewed French and Vietnamese experts and researchers to clarify the significance, scale and great historical value of the Dien Bien Phu Victory. The group of reporters went to Bac Giang to meet with witnesses who were Dien Bien soldiers in the past,” said journalist Bui Phuong.
With the effort in expressing and effectively conveying the great historical value and stature of the Dien Bien Phu Victory to international friends, "Dien Bien Phu: 70 years of heroic history and a heroic and innovative Dien Bien" was highly appreciated by the Final Jury.
Another series of articles in foreign languages by VNA reporters and editors also received high praise from the Award's Final Jury, namely the series of articles: "Vietnam moves towards a new economic cooperation framework in the Indo-Pacific region for prosperity and benefits of the people" by the group of authors: Trinh Linh Ha, Phan Hong Nhung (Foreign Affairs News Editorial Board, VNA).
If the series of works "Dien Bien Phu: 70 years of heroic history and a heroic, innovative Dien Bien" is a reminder to international friends of the great historical value of the Dien Bien Phu victory as well as a message about a country and people of Vietnam who love peace, then the series of articles "Vietnam towards a new economic cooperation framework in the Indo-Pacific region for the prosperity and interests of the people" reflects a Vietnam that has been proactively and actively integrating internationally.
The series of articles, presented in various forms of text, video and mega-story, focused on clarifying the above contents through the speeches of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the launching ceremony of the discussion on the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF) held in May 2022 in Tokyo (Japan) in a combination of live and online formats, as well as interviews with the opinions of US Ambassador to Vietnam Marc Knapper and domestic and international experts and scholars.
Editor Trinh Linh Ha shared: The success of the series of articles is thanks to the continuous support and encouragement from the leaders of the Agency and the Board, which has created conditions for young reporters and editors to promote their roles and enthusiasm in creating, exploring and exploiting new topics related to Vietnam. Thereby, the national foreign information mission of Vietnam News Agency is well performed.
Immediately after being published on the Vietnamplus e-newspaper and shared on the information page of the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) along with the video “Vietnam towards an effective IPEF for regional prosperity” broadcast on Vnews TV channel (English and Vietnamese), the work was reposted on the Facebook page of the US Embassy in Hanoi as well as many domestic print and electronic newspapers, and websites of domestic and international trade organizations.
International experts also widely shared their works on personal social networking sites, contributing to spreading to the international community about Vietnam as a peaceful, friendly, cooperative, developing country, a friend, a reliable partner, an active and responsible member in promoting regional and world economic cooperation to bring practical benefits to the people.
