This morning, October 4, the Quang Tri Provincial Digital Transformation Steering Committee organized the Quang Tri Provincial Digital Transformation Workshop 2024 with the theme: "Creating digital applications for socio-economic development" and inaugurated the Quang Tri Provincial Shared Data Warehouse. Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam emphasized: Recognizing the role and importance of digital transformation in socio-economic development and the opportunity for Quang Tri province to make a breakthrough, in recent times, the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee have issued resolutions, projects and specialized plans on digital transformation with more than 40 specific tasks, on all three main pillars including digital government, digital economy and digital society. Allocating an annual budget of about 40 billion VND to strive for the digital economy to account for about 10% by 2025 and about 15% by 2030 of the province's gross domestic product (GRDP), gradually raising the ranking of the digital transformation index (DTI) to the good group of the whole country.
In 2023, Quang Tri province's digital transformation will increase by 2 ranks compared to 2022, in which some important indicators such as digital government, digital economy and digital society will have positive changes. The proportion of digital economy to GRDP of the province is estimated at 9.03% and ranks 26th nationwide. Infrastructure, especially digital infrastructure, is given attention for investment and development; telecommunications network and broadband internet have wide coverage, creating a foundation for the development of digital economy and digital society.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that this workshop with the theme "Innovative digital applications for socio-economic development" is expected to have useful consultations to build a digital transformation strategy in socio-economic development suitable to the characteristics and situation of the province, clearly demonstrating the great determination of Quang Tri province together with the whole country to successfully implement the national digital transformation program. At the same time, it is also an opportunity for cadres, civil servants, public employees and people in the province to learn and raise awareness about digital transformation - this is considered a prerequisite for successful digital transformation implementation.
At the same time, it is recommended that leaders of Party committees, authorities, agencies and enterprises must be fully aware, unified, responsible and determined to implement the digital transformation process. Focus on promoting the application of information technology, building a digital platform to connect and share data between agencies and organizations, comprehensively digitizing state management activities, providing high-level online public services, creating a foundation for streamlining the apparatus and reforming administrative procedures substantially.

The workshop heard presentations related to AI solutions in digitizing administrative procedure settlement results; cybersecurity issues in promoting digital transformation in Quang Tri; solutions for deploying virtual assistants in supporting civil servant work and administrative management; digital transformation in the field of agriculture and rural development; solutions for managing specialized databases at the district level...
At the workshop, delegates performed the opening ceremony of the Provincial Shared Data Warehouse. Representatives of telecommunications enterprises in the province presented smartphones to support people in difficult circumstances through the Department of Information and Communications.
