Opening of the Exhibition 'Heroic Army, Strong National Defense'

Towards the 80th Anniversary of the Founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024), the 35th Anniversary of National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024), today, December 19, the National Library of Vietnam organized the Documentary Exhibition "Heroic Army, Strong National Defense".

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Director of the National Library Nguyen Xuan Dung said that the Exhibition aims to affirm the correct and wise leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh in the work of building the Vietnam People's Army; affirm the important position and role of the Vietnam People's Army in the cause of national construction and defense; raise awareness of the importance of national defense work and the National Defense Day; strengthen confidence, arouse pride and solidarity within the entire Party, the entire army and the entire people to join hands and unite to firmly protect the Fatherland and build a strong national defense, and build an increasingly developed country. The exhibition displays 800 typical documents selected from the nation's cultural heritage currently preserved at the National Library of Vietnam, following a consistent theme, including the following contents: The People's Army and the Vietnamese Revolutionary Cause: Displaying 200 documents about the history of the establishment, fighting tradition and glorious victory of the Vietnam People's Army in the resistance war against France and the US. The Vietnam People's Army with international missions and protecting borders, sovereignty over seas and islands; The Vietnam People's Army in the cause of building, developing and innovating the country.

Vietnam People's Army - Regular, elite, modern: Introducing 200 documents on the strategic thinking of the Party and State on building an increasingly lean, compact, strong military force in terms of organization and quality in all aspects according to the roadmap for modernizing weapons, technical equipment and military hardware; policies to serve the adjustment of force organization and special allowance regime for the Vietnam People's Army. Building a national defense for national security: Displaying 200 documents on the strength of the great national unity bloc in the process of ensuring the sustainability of independence, freedom, sovereignty and territorial integrity; affirming that building and consolidating national defense and security is an important and regular task of the Party, State, the entire political system and the entire people; education and training on national defense and security knowledge in agencies, organizations and the entire people.
