In his opening speech, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung said that the National Tourism Year 2025 took place with many exciting activities in Hue City and many provinces and cities across the country to complete the goal of welcoming 22 - 23 million international visitors and serving 120 - 130 million domestic tourists in 2025, striving for total revenue from tourism to reach about 980 - 1,050 trillion VND; contributing to the successful implementation of the country's socio-economic development plan with a growth target of 8% or more.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh said that Hue National Tourism Year 2025 is not simply a cultural tourism event but also an emotional journey, a trip back in history to touch the endless beauty of the ancient capital; affirming that Hue is not only a city of history but also a bright spot of the future, a unique cultural tourism center of the whole country, a symbol of innovation and development based on the strength of heritage, elegance, gentleness, and hospitality of each person here.
The Deputy Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Hue City and localities nationwide to deploy comprehensive and synchronous solutions on planning, attracting investment to create unique and classy tourism products, promote digital transformation for communication, promotion, building a civilized tourism environment, training and developing professional tourism human resources. At the same time, strengthen links and cooperation between localities, creating a chain of destinations "Ancient Capital Journey", in which Hue is the driving force and highlight to attract tourists; continue to promote the preservation and promotion of heritage values so that Hue City is always an attractive destination on the international tourism map.
