Vietnamese solo travelers prefer Bangkok, Seoul and Tokyo, with Bangkok being the top choice because of its convenience and reasonable cost.
Agoda - an online travel platform - conducted a survey of the most favorite destinations of Vietnamese solo travelers on the occasion of Singles' Day 11/11 (an unofficial holiday that is gradually becoming popular worldwide). The survey was based on the number of booking searches on Fridays and Saturdays by solo travelers, starting from mid-April to mid-October.
The results showed that Bangkok, Seoul (South Korea) and Tokyo (Japan) were the top three destinations for this group of visitors. These three cities also topped the search list of solo travelers in Asia-Pacific. However, the order of Asia-Pacific visitors changed, with Tokyo taking the lead, followed by Bangkok and Seoul.

The platform's representative commented that it was not surprising that Bangkok was the top destination for Vietnamese solo travelers. Bangkok has long been famous as an accessible tourist destination, ideal for backpacking, with many low-cost hotels. The people of this city are friendly and approachable, so solo travelers can easily make new friends.
About Seoul, Agoda rates the city as a beautiful blend of the classic and the modern. Solo travelers can spend time exploring the ancient palaces, drinking soju and making new friends, or visiting trendy neighborhoods like Gangnam. In addition to safety, Seoul is also famous for its convenient public transportation system, making it easy to travel around the city.
Tokyo - the third-ranked destination on the list - is highly rated by the online booking platform for its world-class cuisine and many capsule hotels suitable for solo travelers.
Mr. Vu Ngoc Lam, Director of Agoda in Vietnam, said that the trend of solo travel is recording higher growth than last year because it is like "a gift for yourself". Solo travel promises to bring unique experiences and more maturity to each traveler.
