Connecting Tuong art with young people

Responding to Youth Month and bringing the art of Tuong closer to young audiences, the Vietnam Tuong Theater has launched the art program "Tuong Words - Young Voices" with the meaning of connecting tradition and modernity, between ancient Tuong art and the breath of today's youth. The program will take place at 8:00 p.m. on March 22 and 29 at Hong Ha Theater, 51A Duong Thanh Ward, Cua Dong, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi.

"Lyrics" represent long-standing cultural values, classic plays imbued with national spirit, while "young voices" are the symbol of a generation of young people full of creativity, dynamism and thirst for innovation.

The Vietnam Tuong Theater said that the program is not just a performance, but also a bridge to help young people understand and love the art of Tuong more, while encouraging them to join hands to preserve and develop this traditional art form.

The highlight of this event is three special excerpts: “Tran Quoc Toan goes to war”, recreating the historical event of Tran Quoc Toan crushing an orange; “The Legend of Dam Muc”, is the story of Dam Muc associated with teacher Chu Van An and his students; “Mother's Love” depicts the noble sacrifice of a mother, honors the indomitable revolutionary spirit, and demonstrates great patriotism that goes beyond blood ties.

“Lyrics of Tuong - Voice of Youth” brings new perspectives on Tuong, helping young audiences see that this art is not far away but can still blend with modern life. Through excerpts on the theme of youth and youth, the theater hopes to inspire the younger generation to follow in the footsteps, preserve and spread the quintessence of national culture.
