Vietnamese football has more players granted citizenship. |
On the afternoon of March 19, the Hanoi Police Club (CAHN) officially announced that defender Jason Pendant Quang Vinh was granted Vietnamese citizenship.
"After a long process of coordination with all relevant units, today Quang Vinh has officially received Vietnamese nationality, becoming a Vietnamese citizen. Since then, Vinh has longed to soon contribute to the Vietnamese team to contribute to the success of Vietnamese football in particular and the country's sports in general," CAHN Club announced.
Cao Quang Vinh was born in 1997, his mother is Vietnamese, his father is French. Vinh played for Sochaux in Ligue 2 (French second division) for 6 years, then moved to the US to play for New York Red Bulls for 3 years (2020 - 2022).
Quang Vinh joined CAHN Club from the beginning of the 2024/25 season and became one of the indispensable players of coach Alexandre Polking.
According to experts, Vinh is currently one of the top left-backs in the V.League. He started 15 matches after 15 rounds, of which 12 played the full 90 minutes. Occasionally, Vinh is directed to move inside to play as a left-sided center-back. If he is called up to the national team, Vinh will be a quality addition.
Sharing with Tri Thuc - ZNews earlier this year, Vietnam national team head coach Kim Sang-sik said he was ready to call Cao Quang Vinh up to the national team to participate in tournaments.
With the presence of Quang Vinh and Xuan Son (at the end of the year), the Vietnamese team will certainly be strengthened when participating in the third qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup.
