Israeli warplanes and artillery attacked multiple targets in southern Lebanon overnight, the Israeli military said. The airstrikes hit Hezbollah targets in Chihine, Tayibe, Blida, Meiss El Jabal, Aitaroun and Kfarkela in southern Lebanon, as well as a Hezbollah weapons storage facility in the Khiam area.
Israeli media reported that several Israeli civilians were injured by anti-tank missile fire from Lebanon, but there was no official confirmation.
The Israeli military said on September 18 that Hezbollah fired about 20 projectiles at Israel, most of which were intercepted by air defense systems without causing any casualties.
Israel and Hezbollah have been exchanging fire across the Israel-Lebanon border in parallel with the Israel-Hamas conflict in Gaza.
Tens of thousands of people have fled the Israel-Lebanon border on both sides. Prime Minister Netanyahu vowed on September 18 to bring the displaced Israelis home safely.
On the same day, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said the war was entering a new phase, with more resources and military units now being moved to the northern border.
