Currently, the iPhone 15 series only supports fast charging up to 27W via USB-C port and 15W via wireless charging. iPhone 15 can reach 50% battery in 30 minutes of charging with the condition of direct wired charging and using a charger with a capacity of 20W or higher.
ITHome revealed that the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro will support a maximum charging capacity of 20W via MagSafe charging and 40W for wired charging. If the rumor is correct, this will be a significant speed increase for the iPhone line so far.
If upgraded to 40W, the battery charging time will be reduced by half compared to the iPhone 15 Pro, taking only 15 minutes to fully charge.
Increasing the charging power will cause battery problems such as battery temperature, increased wear and tear, and reduced battery life. Therefore, Apple needs to have effective solutions to overcome the above problems.
The iPhone 16 Pro series is expected to use a more powerful A18 Pro chip, a major camera upgrade, support for Wi-Fi 7 and 5G Advance connectivity, and use a graphene cooling system. In addition, the iPhone 16 can support generative AI, allowing users to interact with chatbots or create text images right on the phone. The iPhone 16 series is expected to be launched next September.
